I posted this comment on the main Ukraine/Russia conflict thread but I will post it here also.

Here is the video of John Mearsheimer from 2015 explaining the Ukraine situation (it's a conflict between the West/NATO vs Russia).

His words are very prophetic. He also states that China is the biggest threat to the West and not Russia.

That's a concept so ridiculous it can only serve the Deep State propaganda. What country do you expect him to stop at? Poland? Germany? Is he going to take Spain too? No. This is warmongering in the other direction. This is a move against western controlled Ukraine. It would stop at that but we see that the west is very eager to get into it and let it spill all over to serve their multiple agendas, the reset included.

The Baltic states are already NATO members and share border with Russia so I guess it's that IF it was to happen?

But if Russia would retake them they would most probably start by taking the island of Gotland from Sweden since it's such a strategic point in the Baltic Sea. Besides, Sweden doesn't have much of a defence nowadays apart from a pretty impressive air force (and computer geeks) but it would still be an easy one, certainly in comparison to Ukraine.

I'm not so sure he plans on keeping all of Ukraine or just the parts that were originally parts of Russia, even before the Soviets came along. I am a bit surprised they went all the way to Kyiv; will see if they decide to stay or just ensure a favorable puppet is installed. I still think if the US didn't lean so hard with expanding Nato and lining Hunter Biden's pockets, none of this was guaranteed to happen anyway.

Putin can reinvent SWIFT without firing a shot; people like Trudeau are only helping everyone realize the value of that proposition by exposing the vulnerabilities of the tradfi system.

The stretch goal for Putin is to retain popularity at home, which he does by coming across as a strong leader and a winner to compensate for his lukewarm domestic polling. He's done that before; he doesn't need to re-take all of the former USSR to do it again.

Looking back... I wondered why the Covid narrative did a U-turn, and now I can see why... There is a new war narrative the establishment now need to push. Amazing how Omicron came at the perfect time!
