About that video of the group of Ukrainian soldiers getting blasted point blank by the tank. Nobody had posted a link to the video so I went out and found it, actually two videos, to try to figure out what happened. It seems to me that the Ukrainians thought it was a Ukrainian tank, not realizing that it was actually a captured tank crewed by Russians, or else mistaking it for a Ukrainian tank because they weren't aware of Russian forces being in the area. I assume that after blasting them, the Russians recovered their phones/cameras and obtained the videos.
It may be that the troops on the wrong end of the tank barrel were posing for a photograph / Tik-Tok video.
Adding to their distraction....

Didn't they just lose their entire Air Defense capability in a gift to Ukraine? I imagine there is some sweetheart deal to convert them over to US aircraft and US ADA systems.

I suppose it's all virtue signaling. They never expect to deliver the planes, and if their bluff was called, they'd find some way to get out of it.
