The US Government's Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) holds a briefing on the "moral and strategic" necessity of partitioning Russia
I know it is just a think-tank type commission with no authority, but it goes to show the desire of US/West to dismantle Russia entirely.

I suspect the UK government wants them to be executed for propaganda purposes.
The narrative:
1. Putin woke up one morning, and for absolutely no reason whatsoever, ordered the invasion of Ukraine.
2. These brave men risked their lives to fight for the freedom of the Ukrainian people, by repulsing the totally unprovoked Russian invasion.
3. They surrendered to the Russian forces, erroneously believing that they would be treated fairly and in line with the Geneva Convention.
4. They were callously executed by firing squad. Aslin's last word before the bullets fatally pierced his body was "Frrreeeeeeeeeedooooooooom!"

In Response to some of @Max Roscoe 's comments about the weapons here and other arms.
It is bull that they "don't know where the weapons went". That is about all I am able to say on the matter. They know exactly where the weapons given to Ukraine are going and a "free" weapon is not really free anymore than Facebook or Twitter are free.

The US exports millions of tons of coal to China every year. Maybe the Russian-Ukrainian War is a nefarious plot by King Coal to cut off Russian
gas to Germany and force Germany to import American coal instead for its coal power plants!
It's almost like joining NATO increased their risk of a Russian attack instead of reducing it. Who would have thought this was possible?

It cost the Biden brain trust of experts and analysts $6.4 million to come up with the phrase "Putin price hike". While Putin has made $64 billion off the back of the said brain trust.

The government is big on paperwork and bureaucracy.
I have no doubt the NATO forces have a paper trail showing deliveries for every item sent from the west to Ukraine, just as they have well documented delivery notes on all the pallets of hundred dollar bills they shipped to the mideast.
The question is, where are those weapons and money TODAY?
The west is shortsighted in its attempt to fix things with money or weapons. Even if the wars in Afghanistan or Ukraine could have been won by sending weaponry and money over there, the bigger issue than who wins the Afghan war or the Donbass conflict is what effect do those funds and materiel have over the next 30 years? A tank or plane or missile doesn't just stop working 6 months from now when the conflict ends.
A stinger missile given to anti-Soviet troops in the 1970s was used to bring down passenger jets decades later. What effect will billions of dollars, tanks, etc. have when given to the most corrupt country in Europe?
The pettiness is so pathetic.
