Plus, those laws weren't even enforced strictly unless it was considered serious such as impregnating a 12-year-old or rape, etc.

Totally agree. Both bitter women and bitter men have successfully criminalized much of normal sexual behavior because they don't want the hot girls and attractive men to have fun. The women who push for further criminalization of normal sexual behavior (in the direction against men, of course) are bitter because they are ugly, old, masculine. In most countries of the world the age of consent is 14-16, in the vast majority 16 is legal, and 18 pretty much the world over, and these are the kind of girls most judges, politicians and other legislators desperately want to fuck but cannot, so the only other option is to try to raise the age of consent to 18 or 21 for places with 16 or 18 respectively so that any guy who successfully and fairly games one of these hot girls gets 5-10 years.
