Man walked 351 miles to sleep with teenage girl

Unfortunately for him, the girl was a male cop.

A suspect was arrested after he reportedly walked 351 miles to have sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Reports said 32-year-old Tommy Lee Jenkins, who had recently moved to Whitestown, Indiana, walked hundreds of miles to Winnebago County, Wisconsin, to have sex with a teenage girl named “Kylee” whom he met on the internet.

However, “Kylee” was actually a Winnebago County sheriff’s deputy working with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

A press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin stated that Jenkins “began demanding sexually explicit photographs from ‘Kylee’ and making plans to engage in sexual activity.”

Reports said he allegedly asked “Kylee” to come live with him in Indiana multiple times, but when he was told no, he decided to make the journey to Wisconsin on foot.

Prosecutors claimed Jenkins took photos of himself and exit signs during the long hike and also reportedly told “Kylee” that he wanted to have 500 children with her in one year, according to Fox News.

However, when the suspect told “Kylee” on October 10 that he had arrived in Wisconsin, he was arrested by deputies and an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Reports said Jenkins faces charges of using a computer to “attempt to persuade, induce or entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity.”

If convicted, the suspect will serve a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to a lifetime behind bars, according to WISN.

Reports said Jenkins is currently being held at the Brown County Jail in Wisconsin.

The Internet Crimes Against Children task force website stated that it is a “national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies are continually engaged in proactive and reactive investigations and prosecutions of persons involved in child abuse and exploitation involving the Internet.”

In a recent statement, U.S. Attorney Matthew Krueger said the nation is dealing with an “epidemic of child sexual abuse, with the Internet making it too easy for predators to communicate with children across the country.”

“The Justice Department is committed to working with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to prosecute child sexual abuse aggressively,” he concluded.

Gosh, don't we wish the FBI would take as much interest in nabbing pedophiles in the +100k p/a region.

But yes, that is an incredible level of thirst. On the part of both parties.

Something about this just doesn't feel right.

Isn't this a victimless crime?

He wasn't talking to a minor, he was talking to a Winnebago County sheriff’s deputy.

And the only reason he broke the law in the first place is because the FBI tried their best to bait him.

If the FBI hadn't shown up, there would be no crime. They induced it.

10 years all the way up to lifetime for that?

I see what you mean but disagree

A suspect was arrested after he reportedly walked 351 miles to have sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

They baited him correctly.

I would just like to see the same type of sting operations against women...
For example, where are the FBI ops on married women? Baiting them into frivolously divorce raping their husbands (falsely claiming rape, child abuse, etc.) and stealing away the children so they can move secret agent Tyrone into the house?

Where are those FBI stings?

Stings against women do exist. A rich lady got nabbed not too long ago by the feds for shit like that and found a huge stash for kiddie porn at her home.

Pretty sure Homeland Security conducts the stings with the local cops, not the FBI.

Their stings are kinda shady but legally slam dunk cases. They make sure that the guy takes the first step in everything.

@Belgrano

Agree to disagree.

If the FBI didn't plant a honey pot to gain his interest then eventually he would've contacted a real teenage girl and done the things he's being accused to wanting to do.
It wouldn't surprise me if we later found out he had a history of meeting underage girls online and there's a trail of victims in his past.

False equivalency: Divorce isn't a crime.

Even if the FBI did trick a woman into leaving her husband through online game only

1) The marriage probably wasn't that strong before the sting if a few messages was all it took to make the wife stray.

2) US courts are notoriously fem-centric so even if the man initiates he may still lose the kids, property, have to pay alimony etc.

Law enforcement does similar stings on married women looking to hire hitmen to kill their husbands(and that's because murder is a crime).

"thirsty man attempts to meet female of childbearing age and faces a possible life sentence"

I'm not saying that the guy isn't a rotten scum bag, I didn't even read the whole story, but what are we really doing here? What a waste of resources. More signs of a lost society with its priorities out of whack. How about go after some murderous gangbangers or real life pedophiles and child abusers.

Honestly we don't want it to be acceptable for older men to arrange dates with 14yo girls online and go meet them. Publicising a few sting operations like this probably dissuade many potentially predatory men from even trying the behavior. That's the reasoning behind it.

Maybe you didn't read the article.

A 32 year old man trying to have sex with a 14 year old child IS a "real pedophile".

Unlike Bill Clinton, at least he didn't harm the environment by taking the Lolita Express there.

That's the classic entrapment defense. Usually these stings employ a private company to avoid the legal problem of having law enforcement entrap someone directly. Even then, a lot of people get their charges dismissed by claiming the 3rd party was acting too closely with law enforcement. A LOT of the people pinched on To Catch a Predator successfully claimed that.

10 years is hard time. Most of the people on TCAP only got a fine or a year max.

According to Wikipedia:

Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

14 is past puberty, childbearing age.

14 is the age of consent in Austria, Brazil, China, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Columbia, and Portugal to name a few.

I'm not trying to open a can of worms here, I just think it's a waste of resources when there's bigger fish to fry.

People are prone to look at this one of two ways.

Either they're going to assume that Freddy Felcher is a greasy scumbag meeting up with a (supposedly) widdle girl after meeting her on a My-Little-Pony forum, or, they're going to assume that Godfrey Goodintent is a socially inept fellow who thought he'd struck it lucky when he came across Sally Strumpet who claimed 14 but looked like she'd been around the block twice.

Unless you dig hard you're not going to know the details. They could have been net-fishing (so to speak) or using a particular lure for a known lurker. Unfortunately these days we tend to assume the worst about law enforcement and we're not often wrong. Suffice to say if this guy is so socially inept that he thought he was doing nothing wrong then lets hope his lawyer pleads "retard" and gets the case thrown out.

In any case as society devolves further people are going to look more and more incredulously at lazy desktop policing like this. This has become the MO for the British police who ran a mile when confronted by a genuine child-rape gang and it's hard to escape the sense that these cowards are going to increasingly resort to going after the low hanging fruit in order to keep their numbers up and keep their asses in comfortable, safe air conditioned offices.

Although I believe 14 is sick, girls start to be manipulative and crazy at 14. I remember in high school girls would brag about having fake ID’s and getting with college students or getting older men to do stuff for them with the promise of sex. I remember girls actively trying to seduce the teachers and coaches.

It’s even worse now, now girls are getting on dating sites looking for sugar daddys. I remember 2-4 years ago I reported a girl on POF for being underage. She had 18 on her page, she was actually 15.

I’m not justifying this but there needs to be harsher penalties for child rapist (0-14) with a huge emphasis on kids (death penalty for anybody under 11) and in my honest opinion anything above 16 shouldn’t be considered statutory rape. 16-21 are when girls are their most manipulative. Hell the guy who dated Ariana grande just got in social media trouble for dating an 18 year old “teen” he’s 25, same thing happened to drake and LeBron James last year.

Does that mean I want younger women? No I aim for 20-21 year olds (I’m 25)

Here's a known pedophile, who has sex trafficked literally hundreds of 14 year olds, having lunch earlier this summer at In-n-Out:

None of this story makes sense. If we assume a completely flat terrain and an average walking speed of three miles per hour, that's a total of 116 hours of walking. Now, if we (unrealistically) assume that he's very fit and determined, and walks a solid18 hours a day at a steady pace, with 8 hours to rest, eat and sleep, that's almost an entire week. More realistically, it would have taken much longer than this. Are we supposed to believe he did all of this for the sole purpose of having sex with an underage girl? What's the point of walking the distance, when a bus ride would have taken eight hours max and cost much less than the costs he would have incurred over a more than one week long walk?

I'm not justifying this guy's behavior, but it seems to me that resources should be spent on those attempting to have sex with younger kids. The average 14 year old would have enough judgement to cut off communication and to report this to her parents immediately. And parents who do their job should warn their kids about this type of contact.

I would assume that no father with a 14 year old daughter would agree with this.
