This is too harsh. When you get to a certain age, attractive women stop expressing sexual interest.
I disagree. I remember seeing a pic you posted of yourself. Educated and can play in a band. The stage is set.

So if you are not interested in indifferent women, you just do whatever you want and ignore them unless they are, for instance, a real estate agent and you are buying a house.

Women are indifferent cause you made that way. GYOW can put you off the path. Women need to be lead. Masculinity is leadership.

I could be in the Philippines right now banging chicks, but I'd rather be playing with the band I have in USA. That's my priority right now.

I respect that. For real. Hopefully when I'm your age I'll be able to play the geeetaaarrr good enough to do what you do. But, as a lifelong barfly, and someone who knows Raymond Fairchild, Tom Watson The Crow Brothers, ect., I wanna do it in a way that reaps pussy.

For me at least, MGTOW has not been a choice. It's something I have always been, ever since before puberty.

Interestingly, my sister is also something of a Woman Going Her Own Way. She's definitely not a feminist (I brought the subject up and it was clear she wasn't familiar with most feminist concepts), and definitely not anti-social, but she's kind of gone her own way in life without giving two fucks what people care about her. This leads me to conclude that it's probably in my genes. Anyone else have MGTOW siblings?

I've always said, "If you have to keep being in everyone's face about being an MGTOW, you probably aren't".

I haven't even seen any of those MGTOW forums you guys talk about, but I believe you when you say they're bitter. Most real MGTOWs haven't even heard of the term MGTOW.

^ I just skimmed through that.

What an entitled, whiny and smug little bitch she sounds like.

You have some issues with your husband fine.

But do you have to completely disrespect him by putting this shit all over the internet? This woman has no dignity. The amount of likes by other women further demonstrates the wasteland of Western women.

I pity the man married to that.

Place your bets on her being a fat war-pig.

I posted the Will Ferrell clip earlier in this thread. But I just want to talk about the scene as a whole. You can see the whole scene here - as opposed to the short edit I linked to before.

It is taken from the fillm Wedding Crashers.

It is interesting in the hilarious scene above how the character's opinion of Will Ferrell (who is playing a PUA) totally flips when he sees that (despite still living with his mom and watching cartoons all day) he is a success with hot women.

It reminds me that for all the money and success you may have. Being successful with women is the highest status you can have.

As a MGTOW myself - I don't subscribe to that credo. But I can see that this is how most people think. And I respect that.

Plus there is still a large part of me that admires that ability (since it is pretty rare - and mostly only exists in movies).

Thinking about this reminds me of something I read once. If women didn't exist - there would be no need for money.

So - whilst the 'getting married is for losers' rant in the middle of the scene is quite a MGTOW statement. The scene as a whole is making an anti-MGTOW statement.

Yes - I know - I think about these things too much...

Just came across this. Thought it might fit in well with this thread:

There is this story of an American expatriate in Nigeria. He takes a cigarette break at 10 am and sees a young man lying under the palm tree. He is flabbergasted. He approaches the young man and the following conversation ensues:

American: What are you doing?

Young man: (waves his arm around) Lying under the palm tree

American: What do you do for a living?

YM: I am a fisherman and I am done for today

American: At 10 am? You should put in some more hours.

YM: Then what?

American: Then you will make yourself more money.

YM: More money? Then what?

American: Then you can buy yourself a trawler and do deep sea fishing

YM: Trawler? Deep sea fishing? Then what?

American: Then you would really make a lot of money, and can go to the Bahamas and lie under the palm trees!

Generally speaking,The underlying cause of this movement is that they realize the game is stacked against them, thus they are refusing to play.Getting married and having kids is a losing proposition. While they just reject everything completely...Players just pump and dump

Here is a link to my favourite blog:

http://dissention.wordpress.com/

I don't know who writes the blog (he goes by the name Advocatus Diaboli) but I love it. He is cynical, mean and hates just about everything to do with modern society. He seems to have found a way to channel his darkest and most amoral opinions. And I love nodding along as I read them.

Anyway - I am mentioning his brilliant blog now because his latest post has quite a strong MGTOW vibe (as does alot of the other stuff he writes).

http://dissention.wordpress.com/201...rones-assholes-and-other-assorted-human-scum/

So now seems like a good time to recommend this blog once again.

cardguy,

Why do you like this blog so much?

I've never seen it before and just read the post you linked to. Honestly, this guy just strikes me as an asshole who likes to hear himself talk (a pretty common type on the internet, for sure). His shtick about how everybody else is either an idiot or a piece of shit wears thin very quickly.

If you want to see that the guy has nothing original to offer, here is a good tell from his post:

To put it another way, most people are reliably useless and borderline sociopaths.

Not only is the opinion offered here incredibly stupid and a terrible way to go through life; but his canting use of the term "borderline sociopaths" betrays the low quality of his mind. "Sociopath" is one of the most tired and shopworn of all current tropes.

One of the reasons I love the RVF even though it can drive me crazy sometimes is that guys here, including yourself as far as I can tell, are very often generous with their time, hearts and minds, have a variety of interests and observations to offer and seem to me mostly decent sorts or better (all in direct contradiction to this freak's slander, by the way). Compared to that, a blog like the one you linked to seems like very thin gruel.

@ The Lizard of Oz - Thanks for the compliment!

Yeah - I am actually a really nice guy. But there is a side to me which thinks life would be much more fun being a cold-hearted sociopath.

Sadly I can never keep the act up for long. Still - it is for that reason that this is my favourite scene from any film ever:

As for the blog above. I really like it - although maybe you need to read a few posts before you get a feel for the guy. The post below was a good example of him putting into words something I have always felt.

Even though I am a university drop out - I never admired those who did well at university - and went on to become doctors or lawyers (my younger brother for example). And the post below helped explain why:

http://dissention.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/delayed-gratification-is-the-mark-of-suckerhood/

Too many people in life get trapped in the game of being a dog and 'chasing other people's bones' (passing exams etc) instead of finding their own bone to chase. And the post above is a nice example of that.

Still - the blogger is a kindred soul to me. A bit like a favourite rock band. I have some bands I really love - even though I know they are not the best in the world . For example - I love The Breeders - yet I can totally understand how they might sound like an average rock band to alot of people.

So - whilst I do love the blog above - I can certainly see why its tone won't appeal to everyone.

If the guy thinks most people are borderline sociopaths, my mind screams PROJECTION.

They key is not hating other people. It's way more efficient-- even if you have no compassion-- to like the wide variety of people. It takes a lot of different types to make a society work, you need accountants, cops, sewer technicians....

I once saw a lecture by Brian Eno and he commented that "It would be a pretty strange world if everyone liked 'Music for Airports'"

The key is BEING HATED because you're getting what you want, which hardly anyone achieves in life. Not by everyone-- I'm exaggerating to make a point-- but there is a minority of people you can use as your weathervane.

There are at least two reasons for them hating those that nail things.

One is they can't admit, or are ashamed, of what they want. E.G., I'm over 50 and want to fuck 18 year olds. The second is they refuse to act to get what they want.

I've had otherwise intelligent actors tell me with certainty Tom Cruise is gay. How the fuck do they know? Do you think they hang out at his SWAT-team guarded estate? No, they just CAN'T STAND that he has hundreds of millions of dollars ( I guess) and gets to make just about any script he wants.

Yes, I like the idea of loving as many others as your heart is big enough to achieve, but having some others love you and some others hate you. Then you've really got something going.

MGTOW is a useful philosophy - choosing to create your own path free from societal expectations. But as RawGod stated above, in practice these men are full of hate.

I prefer the idea of 'Red Pill' - knowing and understand the numerous societal expectations, mainstream lies and complexities of civilisation which then allows one to make their own decision of how to live their own lives.

IMO MGTOW is personified by Aaron Clarey aka 'Captain Capitalism' in his book Enjoy the Decline and of John Galt in Atlas Shrugged. The thing is, while they argue for rational self-interest and pursuing one's own goals by refusing to be another cog in society, in the long run they're handicapping themselves.

That reminds me of a passage from Ernst Jünger's Eumeswil, in which he points out the main difference between two ideal figures, the "forest fleer" (der Waldgänger) and the "anarch":

The forest fleer has been expelled from society, the anarch has expelled society from himself. He is and remains his own master in all circumstances. When he decides to flee to the forest, his decision is less an issue of justice and conscience for him than a traffic accident. He changes camouflage; of course, his alien status is more obvious in the forest flight, thereby making it the weaker form, though perhaps indispensable.

MGTOW'ers may not be literal "forest fleers" (like the Unabomber), but their alien status is obvious. They have been rejected by society, and it's hard to join society when you're outside of it. If you have low status and are rejected by society, rejecting society in return is viewed as a pathetic gesture. It's better to be an outsider in disguise within society rather than outside society, to be an anarch. Another quote from Eumeswil:

A general is a specialist insofar as he has master his craft. Beyond that and outside the arbitrary pro and con, he keeps a third possibility intact and in reserve: his own substance. He knows more than what he embodies and teaches, has other skills along with the ones for which he is paid. He keeps all that to himself; it is his property. It is set aside for his leisure, his soliloquies, his nights. At a propitious moment, he will put it into action, tear off his mask. So far, he has been racing well; within sight is the finish line, his final reserves start pouring in. Fate challenges him; he responds. The dream, even in an erotic encounter, comes true. But causally, even here; every goal is a transition for him. The bow should snap rather than aiming the arrow at a finite target.

There's no need to alienate family, friends, work colleagues. Just be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Unless you benefit in a tangible manner from advertising your thoughts, just fly under the radar and don't make waves. That way you get to enjoy the benefits of being an insider, without paying any "membership fees".
