If you read elite publications like The Economist or the Financial Times they will make it clear that they want all national borders gone, period.
First the migrants were "guest workers" who would "do the jobs the natives didn't want to do". When that was played out they became "refugees" fleeing conflict. I don't know anything about global warming, however, I wouldn't be surprised if they push the global warming angle next. They'll probably justify it along these lines - "temperatures are rising in the global south so we have no choice but to let people in in order to avoid a human catastrophe".

The fact they pass through Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria to get to Sweden and the UK shows they just want welfare. Same goes for Hondurans 'fleeing' high crime neighborhoods. There is a book called socialist phenomenon that investigates the hypothesis that we may have this self-destructive death wish hardwired into us and that socialism is a consequence of such.
I recommend reading the entire book if you have the time. It's not long.

China recently passed laws that increased restrictions for illegal migrants and even more importantly, those that employ illegal migrants. 99% of illegal migrants will leave within a few months if they are unable to find jobs and if the child or marriage pathway to a green card is also closed off for those that entered illegally.

Of course, very few people discuss China's tough immigration policies. China is also tough towards real refugees from North Korea and will send them back if caught. This is sometimes discussed, but nowhere near as much as European nations that wish to block fake refugees from nations that are poor and corrupt, but don't have a government any more oppressive than Australia's or Austria's.
