If they smoked Zelensky that would be a pretty interesting turn of political ramifications.

The ex-nuclear, huge and labyrinthine base near the Rumanian border, would have been a perfect choice for Zelensky (providing Zelensky is not in the basement room of the US embassy of Warsaw, as we all thought he was).
There, deep underground, as far as possible from the front line, Zelensky would have been kinda safe, protected by the fighter jets of the French nuclear plane carrier and NATO's rapid response team (lying in wait just a few kilometers away in Rumania).
This can explain that Russia used its first ever Hypersonic missile on this forlorn old base. To "smoke" (vaporize) Zelensky, yes.

Like many wars among former Soviet Republic countries, this war has a certain GTA-factor. Because most of the vehicles are used on both sides, vehicles can be captured and in some cases instantly used.
I think we will see an increase of high tech weapon use by the Russians, since they seem to realize that what started as an attempts of occupation has turned into an intense conflict against a determined nation.

Not even close to a determined nation. It's a nation being held hostage by some of the worst Chews on planet earth, and they are using more precise surgical strike weaponry to try and remove the cancer without hurting the host too much.
The hypersonic missiles are something else. Best artillery on planet Earth.

I'm curious about the explosion seen in this clip - is it from the RPG warhead exploding, or is that what reactive armour looks like when it's triggered?
I was about to post this one myself. the NLAW warhead never went off. the explosion you see is the reactive armor.
Just saw a clip on FB of a guy (purportedly DPR) armed with a venerable Mosin Nagant! The stock was all taped up and it was no safe queen, but there's not doubt it's still an effective rifle - maybe just not on the front line. Speculation was that the guy was probably some sort of rear guard element.

Ukraine is flooded with weaponry. Many Former Warschau Pact countries are emptying their old storage sites (Soviet stuff), and many Western countries are sending newer more sophisticated material.
Lots of the weapon transfers to Ukraine are by now not communicated to the public anymore. French MILAN ATGMs have surfaced in Ukraine, without notification. Turkish Bayraktars are transported to Slovakia and from there on moved into the country. They do it on the hush hush.
* Czech Republic sending 20 RM70 MLRS. Transported into Ukraine by train.
* Poland sending 100 modernized T72 tanks, also an undisclosed number of IFVs
* Yesterday the US pledged another 800 million USD in military aid, coming on top of the 1.7 billion already provided since February 23. New batch contains some advanced weapon systems like Switchblade suicide drones. Helicopters were intended for Afghanistan.
* German MIC Rheinmetal has offered to provide the AFU with 50 Leopard 1 tanks, could be done as early as June. Not sure how they'd work out the training of the crew, spare parts and other details. Not confirmed yet.
* The UK has pledged nearly a billion in aid, much of it militarily. Part of their weapons deliveries are (from their MoD) the following. Note the delivery of the Harpoon anti-ship missile (not sure who's going to operate them, and mounted on what ships)
• 120 armoured vehicles (Husky light TSV, Spartan APC, Mastiff MRAP) and new anti-ship missiles (Harpoon)
• $130m worth of Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles, 800 anti-tank missiles, and high-tech loitering munitions for precision strikes
• $500 million in World Bank
* Australia has sent 20 Bushmaster vehicles

The Donbass battle and subsequent rush to Odessa/Transnystria is becoming more time sensitive.
The more these systems arrive, the more trouble Russia will have. If the US is indeed shipping 90 anti-tank systems into country for every Russian tank deployed, that bodes ill for Russia. These systems are easy to train and operate and fit well into Ukrainian ambush warfare.
The Ukrainians don't have to win anything today. They just have to not lose and hang on long enough to turn this into a protracted war that sucks Russia dry. The West couldn't be happier to backstop them with guns and ammo, to the last man.

I have no more idea than you about that, but one has reason to doubt the good intentions of the west towards the average Ukrainian. They really are being set up as cannon fodder. Lord, have mercy on them.
We have weapons and cash for Ukraine, but are there no great statesmen or diplomats that have advised Ukraine: "you have lost the Donbass and Crimea. They were Russian ethnic anyway. Your people have a saying of such Russian-Ukrainians: 'You like Russia? OK then - suitcase, train station, Russia.' Why are you fighting to keep them, when you dislike them? Sue now for peace. Save what you can and limit the bloodshed."
No such figure appears to exist.
