I give a shit about the kid - he is fucked. A moron of a parent does not become Mrs. Cleaver with with this intense moment.

"Dad" has like 19 felonies over a 10-year period...including kidnapping and drug trafficking.

Ward Cleaver? - NOT.

Ever been picked up and lifted off the ground by an animal, maybe even a "domesticated" one like a cow, bull, or steer? They don't give a fuck, don't plan ahead, and will stick a horn in you and lift you off the ground until you hit strike them back with surprise violence.

Primates are more intelligent than lower level animals. The fact is that Harambe didn't immediately kill the threat which would have been simple, but was checking out the situation and acting carefully. He wasn't acting randomly. His behavior was intelligent. The kid wasn't hurt. I think that if apes started posting on Internet forums they would lose their natural intuition and become much more careless.

I suggest you go look up "chimp attack" on the internet. Get a barf bag ready. They are not really as predictable as we think. All primates are still prone to savage animal instincts. Some are naturally more violent than others but these are animals that practice cannibalism from time to time too.

We all know wild animals can be dangerous. But so can humans. This doesn't add any new information.

Not to mention even the gorilla's handler had said he didn't go into the exhibit after it turned 7.

Pretty much sums it up about the gorilla's temperament.

Off topic, but every time I see a gay couple, I think they look like Siegfried and Roy, but without the magic.

Primates aren't that smart.

This one buys into the left wing agenda that climate change is real:

Look at the facts monkey.

In light of this thread I watched Gorilla videos on youtube for the about 30 minutes. Silverbacks are terrifying animals. They are so huge, strong, imposing, and relatively unpredictable. Don't let there human-like appearance fool you. These can be extremely violent and powerful beasts.

Establishing the pecking order:

Gorilla gender dynamics remind me a lot of cows. Females are generally docile and friendly, especially with humans. While the males are powerful, fast, hyper aggressive.

That is from the Omaha Zoo.

Here's some jaguars attacking at the Little Rock Zoo:

The gorilla got shot at the Cincinatti Zoo.

Why do all of these cities need zoos? Just for school kids to go to?

If I go to any of those three cities I'm not going to the zoo. I'm not going BECAUSE of the zoo either. If I go to Arkansas maybe I'll go to a cockfight but that's it.

Honolulu has a zoo too. Since a lot of marginalized people live here we get a shitty one. There's just no need.

According to the Zoo Association there are 233 in America. Are they money makers?

What's the point?

Aloha!

Ahh yes, you brought up what I was thinking about.

There have been more than one story of chimps and other primates clawing and biting peoples faces off, including their eyes.

I want to blame fairybeta Friends character Ross for this as well:

Primates can be very smart and devious. I wish I could trace back the article, but they will organize in packs and pounce on tourists.

Almost looks like slaps when they fight. Can't imagine how much power is in those arms. A human on the receiving end of that initial charge would be destroyed instantly. A 250 lb swoll man would still get ragdolled like a bitch.

Looks like one gorilla tried to do a bodylock and then the other sprawled too.

The finishing hit seemed to be an overhand pimp slap to the aggressor's dome which made him retreat.

Reminds me of Travis the Chimp, whom went apeshit on his owner's friend:
In February 2009, Travis and his owner Sandra Herold gained international notoriety after he suddenly attacked Herold's friend Charla Nash and grievously mauled her, blinding her while severing her nose, ears, and both hands, and severely lacerating her face. He was subsequently shot dead on the arrival of the police, after trying to attack an officer.

Primates are no joke, they'll fuck you up real bad.

Yeah I should have put a disclaimer: Trigger warning - ignorant soccer moms talking out their asses about shit they have no clue about.

I'd also like to point out, that videos like this and many other encounters of violent wildlife really goes to show you that pound-for-pound humans are some of the weakest animals on earth. We absolutely need our brains. Animals of similar and even smaller size than humans are just far more adept fighters in close quarters. Other animals move faster, are much stronger, have sharp teeth and claws. We don't have shit. Fascinating really.
