Moving into a Muslim heavy Cul-de-Sac....

Recently bought a place in a nice Cul-de-Sac.

Great area. Big house.

Problem? The Cul de sac is around 50% Arab/Pakistani families. I'm a young black male.

Question? How do I naivigate this situation?

Its a four bedhouse and I took out a mortage, as a single dude, with a view to rent out the rooms.

Rule one: Do not talk to their women without their male chapperone.

Any other rules?

It's a mixed UK city. Just the cul de sac is muslim heavy. Houses are really well maintained and the family who sold it were muslims.

Only one mosque near by.

Sell, sell sell! If these were Persian muslims then you would be fine but Pakistani types will drive down your land value so you're sinking money into a black hole then they'll make the area so hostile that when you finally sell then only their own kin can take advantage of the cheap-as-dirt prices. This is an established practice and it works quite well for them. I knew folks that had rental properties and despite being seriously left wing they ended up instituting a "no Pakistani students" rule because the flats were left uninhabitable, and not just once or twice but every single time, so don't rent to the locals either.

I only know of one CAF Pakistani dude and he's like the Trump of their people so you can't really take outliers as an average.

OP - I take it you're of Caribbean descent, because a Black man of African extraction wouldn't have had any issues with Muslims, given that there are lots of them in sub-Saharan Africa. Your new neighbours are used to interacting with Black Africans in their mosques.

In all seriousness, I would ask them if you could go to prayers at Mosque with them because you want to learn to be more sensitive and appreciative of their culture but you must be truly interested and sincere otherwise that could backfire into serious resentment. If they sense you respect them and their culture they may actually regard you as a possible convert to the faith and to be protected as commanded by Mohammed in the Koran.

I had a good Pakistani IT tech friend for years till he died of pancreatic cancer and he would answer any of my questions if asked in a sincere manner - like how do you manage 4 wives under one roof at the same time - his answer smiling - build four roofs... Islam and sharia have some very red pill aspects to it - I believe in developing an understanding to most cultures in case the local trends start to go against you - you can be aware of it and have a plan B good to go if needed.

Converting or expressing sympathies for muslims among many of these groups would be like someone from New York expressing solidarity among a group of Appalachian hillbillies because they're both white. He's going to get his ass kicked anyway.

On the real though, I work in a very Muslim area in Melbourne, and the Muslims (Afghans, Iranians mainly) seem to get on fine with the Africans- some who are Muslim themselves, many who are not.

Mind you there are a decent amount of Vietmamese, Indians and Pacific islanders as well.

Don't know why it seems to be so different in Europe.
