Nation-wide cellular outage

What’s scary about that is if so it’s an act of war

We do have 3 USN carrier strike groups in the pacific right now for what it’s worth

thoughts?
The US commits acts of war against foreign nations on a weekly basis.

Carrier strike groups in the Pacific will be slightly less effective against cell phone outages as tank divisions and airstrike fighters were in Iraq and Afghanistan. The US is broken and cannot accomplish things any more. This includes military operations. They are pretty good at destroying schools, bridges, wedding parties, heterosexuality, peace, social cohesion, and small businesses though.

Did anyone else wake up on June 16th with a massive headache? Also poor sleep quality. I think there was a huge surge or influx into the power grid over the last 24 hours, and this outage bs is definitely connected.
My head felt like it was gonna explode that night

Woah, I had a pretty bad headache Tuesday during the day. I was fasting and doing no-caffeine, so I'm chalking it up to that, but interesting to hear.

That's two more than I needed to hear. Something definitely passed the blood brain barrier for most of us to feel that way, and I've been on an extreme detox. Limit your wi-fi use when not necessary, and keep your phones away from you when not talking.

As for limiting wifi, if you are using an open source router like Advanced Tomato, DDWRT or Open WRT, (which you should be anyway for ad blocking and advanced features) you can activate a schedule which shuts off the wifi radio (mine is off from midnight to 7 AM). I have fallen asleep with a tablet or phone next to my head and had a bad headache on that side of my head all day. We don't know how dangerous it is to have these waves constantly penetrating us, but it sure can't be good for your sleep and this can cut your lifetime exposure in half.

Also you should be using a Pihole to further block ads. Cost is around $40 I think. I can barely use the internet at all when I leave home and am subjected to the "normal" levels of advertising that others put up with. This lock down is a great time to set up one or both of these. If you spend more than 30 minutes a day online, I consider it an absolutely essential purchase. Something like 40% of my internet traffic is blocked as junk / ads by my Raspberry Pihole.

Good tip, I will have to check this out. It could be a good "productivity hack" as well, if your internet connection cuts off around bedtime.

You don't have to buy a Pi to do DNS blocking, there's a bunch of tools that do this without hardware:

I highly recommend a hardware solution, which works for every internet connected device on your network, is possibly faster than a software blocker, can pull blocking lists from multiple services/sites, will work on programs other than internet browsers (ie programs and apps) and will speed up your bandwidth, but the above software solutions are a good idea to get your feet wet, or to use when traveling. I don't even get banner ads that are embedded in smartphone apps because they cannot load through my network. It looks like the latest Raspberry Pi is $35 and one would be fine with one of the older cheaper models (you don't need USB 3 or dual displays for a Pihole). The cheapest model is $5.
