I've noticed a number of his other posts and likes of other posts, so I'm not surprised by his point of view as it pertains to this discussion. Before I would have taken the time to drop the napalm, but at this point of the game, I've reached a certain level, so I'll just leave it at the fact that I've observed.

I as a Black man want to see fellow Blacks leave this degenerate rap and hip-hop culture that has plagued our communities. I want Black people to appreciate what they have by knowing what true hard work really is like instead of adopting this gangster thug culture that has destroyed our image and our communities where we have embraced criminality and violence. We are never going to be taken seriously until we leave that gangster culture and become serious about our lives.

Image is everything in America. But if we're going to sit here and tell Black people and coddle and say "hey its ok, you can dress how you want to dress and everything will be ok," we will be doing huge damage to our kids. No one is going to hire them with all of that baggage.

I believe we have different definitions of the word redundant.

The re-emphasis of the point is a writing style to drive home the idea to a casual audience, a la "To be, or not to be? That is the question."

But, if now you would like to add something of worth to this conversation, I would be more than welcome to hear it.

You can't blame people for rationally profiling people. We do that every time. Let's say you're walking home with your girlfriend and there's two streets. One has a group of young black males. In the other street a group of old asian women. Which street would you choose? We know males commit more crime than women. Young black males commit more crime than any other race. It doesn't matter why. Those are FACTS. We know the path with old asian ladies are 99% safe. We can't say the same for the other one.


BUT in this article's case, the shop workers are just plain stupid. Seeing a 7-foot guy coming out of a fancy car (it doesn't matter if he was black and dressed with a hoodie), everybody should know he's not a criminal and more likely to spend a lot of money in jewelry (like most high-profile blacks do). I can sympathize with him. That would certainly make me angry. It sucks when you have to pay for other's mistake. In his case, ghetto-blacks.

My girlfriend is from Colombia. You guys have no idea what kind of shit she goes thru while traveling abroad, specially in airports. She's paying for other's mistake (in this case, drug mules). Blacks can avoid most racism by wearing a suit. Being Colombian means you'll get a prostate massage in airports.

The uncomfortable truth is when some people see the average white guy (regardless of stature) get out of a luxury vehicle they think upstanding member of the community/businessman and no one bats an eye.

However, when his black equivalent exits the same vehicle he is viewed by those same people as a suspect who came into possession of said vehicle through felonious means.

After the fact, we have to start justifying the knee jerk reaction of the storekeeper.

Until we address the dissonance of those two vantage points, and stop trying to use cute language to explain it away we will always have this sort of circular conversation.

So you see, I don't instigate I just dont like being told 2 + 2 = 5. Especially when it goes against my priceless public school education.
