Patriots fans will be complaining about those two questionable TD calls for the next year. Game would have been a lot different if Brady caught that wide open pass or the kicker could have got those easy kicks.

I don't really care too much either way who won the game but it was a least a close game.

The commercials in Canada were such SJW bullshit, especially from big companies like Coke.

Those calls were as straightforward as they come, no controversy at all. Ertz took 3 fucking steps

And the ball passed the goal line which is the most important thing here. Definitely straightforward.

Well the coverage I was listening to was thinking it should have been reversed because they still thought he was a receiver at that point and not a runner and on the other touchdown they were all complaining because they thought the receiver wasn't in control of the ball before he stepped out of bounds.

Edit - I'm not saying I'm disagreeing with the call on the field for the Ertz touchdown I'm just saying that Pats fans will be whining about it for a long time.

Yeah, going strictly by the rules, it's not a catch, therefore not a TD. But I think the officials just couldn't bring themselves to overrule the call and flip the SB outcome by strictly abiding to a very stupid rule.

Pats fan here. Great game. We got beat. I don't see Brady retiring after a Superbowl loss. He'll play another year and try to go out with a win. If the Patriots win it all next year, he retires for sure.

It was a good call on the step in Eagles TD. Nobody would have been happy if the Refs had decided the game.

This interpretation is not correct. The player had motion after the catch and thus became a runner and was no longer classified as a receiver. Because he was a runner all he had to do was break the plane of the goal, which he successfully did. The juggle after did not matter.

Remember the call on the field was for a Touchdown, not if it was a clean catch. The only case was they would have overturned it is if they were reviewing it to be a catch or not.

If the Refs ruled it incomplete and Philly challenged then your interpretation would be correct.

WTF? All the Eagles players are kissing the SB trophy? Have previous teams all taken turns tasting their teammates's slobber on the fucking trophy?

Disgusting.

If only some winning player would rub his dick all over it we could end the continuing travesty against this proud trophy.

Hell of a game with some of the most ballsy play calling I've ever seen.... an it paid off.

The complicated catch rule has to fucking go. Both of those were catches to anyone looking at if with out bringing into play all the complexity the NFL has unnecessarily added to the game. Dez also caught that ball a few years ago in that infamous catch/noncatch (I'm no Dallas fan either)

The sky fell in here in Patriotsland. Wow. I watched the postgame lowlights on local TV.

It appears that the Patriots got out Patrioted. Brady gagged at the worst possible moment with that strip sack.

No idea why Belichick benched Malcolm Butler. Dafuq?

The refs allowing those two PHI TDs, especially the one where the receiver clearly had one foot out of bounds in the back of the end zone, will go down as some of the worst officiating ever in championship play.

PHI won. But it’s tainted.

You only need two feet in bounds for it to be a touchdown, which he had. The third step being out of bounds is moot. The officiating was fine for this game.
