Normies and coronavirus

I’m not up to speed on research on masks not helping protecting against cold/flu (just Covid) so I’ll take your word for it. If masks are useless then if your sick then stay home until you aren’t contagious. If you must go out in public, just be courteous, keep distance from others and keep your hands clean at least. Minimal effort can help others not have to deal with some misery and lost days. Unless a person has a “misery loves company” mindset.

The efforts that make sense, as explained by a number of epidemiologists before they were made to stop talking, were to screen people with fever symptoms from entering stores and to provider support for isolating high risk patients from public spaces.

I spent several months on a project at a large corporate office near Dulles (doesn't narrow it down much. There's a bunch).

It was this weird combination of extremely wealthy, fancy, and utterly sterile. There was a lot of stuff in the area and none of it had any flavor. It all felt extremely generic and flat.
I grew up in that exact area, until I moved to Colorado in my early adolescence. It's almost like having been raised in two different countries. But the Springs and DC are so closely tied together with the defense contracting drawing in a lot of people who are "tired of the hustle and bustle" and wanna "settle down in the mountains." Hard to say, but if I had to guess I'd think there's more normies in DC, because there's a lot more info there, but also an understanding that everyone's living off the system in a big way. In the Front Range there's at least some areas of rednecks and hippies who don't trust anything mainstream so much.

Springs was a bit of a weird melting pot a decade ago, although Colorado is slowly driving out normal people. It had this mix of MIC-affialted people, military grunts, Hippies, Bible Thumpers, Immigrant communities, bikers, various "Hustle" types (prevalent there more than anywhere else for some reason), and a significant contingent of "Colorado Springs is gonna be a big city someday" types.

The MIC affiliated types were usually your preppies living in trendy areas like the hills on the west side of town. Military grunts were all over but predominantly concentrated anywhere alcohol was to be found. Hippies I noticed mostly in and around Manitou Springs, although there was some spillover to Downtown. You wouldn't see much of them on the North or East sides.

Bible Thumpers, again all over. You had a pretty big evangelical influence there. Immigrants we had a lot of Germans and there also some large mexican neighborhoods located on the South side closer towards Fountain.

Your biggest leftist hub was near the University downtown.

No, I meant only on research I read was on masks in relation to Covid (and learned they don’t help much at all) I didn’t know they were ineffective against cold and flu.

It's the same thing...

But yeah, staying home when sick and washing hands is all that ever should have been recommended.

No doubt. The people in the DMV, though, are really something else compared to the rest of the country.

Almost everyone raised in the DMV has parents that work for the government or government subcontracting. They know about 501c3s and if they start a subcontractor it will be headed by a minority wounded war veteran. They know that the system is absolutely corrupt and that people get away with illegal and immoral things and yet they will act as if the same system never lies to them.

Literally had a discussion about this last week with me and another guy who had lived in DMV/NOVA and outsiders and the outsider was pretty shocked at how openly corrupt the entire thing is. Literally people creating small business minority owned, and when it's no longer small they "sell" the business and then take their current customers from the business they just sold so they can start a new "small business." Lather, rinse, repeat.
This is definitely how the swamp game is played. Also add retired military officers who then create a contract company (using their military greased palms and networks) but let their wives be identified as the owner of the company to get the “woman owned” contract awards. It’s all a scam. And the work being done is fake work/administration for jobs creation reasons mostly.

If she was being courtesy/honest, I think her wearing a mask when having a cold is admirable and the actual sole reason/only reason people should wear masks while out in public (to keep their germs isolated and not get others sick). Ideal situation is to take sick leave and stay home to not spread germs but if you do need to interact with people in public, keep distance and/or wear a mask if you actually have care for other people’s well being. As long as it’s not political virtue signaling or brainwashed fear reasons, I have no problems with people being open about being sick (even a common cold) and preventing others for feeling miserable for several days.
Masks do not block the cold virus or ANY virus. They are only useful for stopping spit that flies our your mouth when you talk. The weave is far too wide to stop a virus. It's like trying to keep mosquitoes out of your yard with a chain-link fence.

This is one of the most apt descriptions I've seen of the area.

One thing I noticed is that the population is very diverse, yet the food, both taste and quality, is well below average. I'd literally go to restaurants that had hundreds of 5 star Yelp reviews and could do a better job cooking myself.

The architecture is either "modern, blocky" or if it's office buildings, skews towards "Satanic."

And there are some very high quality people there....very strange place.

Masks do not protect you from a cold or flu, which has been discussed extensively here.
The idea of protection is nothing but nonsense.
It's so retarded to even think that it would protect, with 0 standards the mask should live up to to call it a proper mask + the fact that wearing such a thing just keeps bacteria etc in a stagnant place, therefore creating literal illness. Imagine how much illness actually has come about cause people just had masks in their pocket all the time and wore it for months on end, with all the bacteria heaped on for ages.

To be fair, whilst not providing protection to the user, if the user is infected, it does lower the risk of people who interact with the user on the short term.

Thats because it does catch a lot of the crap that comes out of your mouth and nose, thereby not letting lots of virus out, and lowering the potential viral load of anyone else.

When wearing it, it doesnt protect you from virus entering through your eyes. Also, with regards to covid, the people who wore the mask were so scared they always used hand sanitiser, which has the effect of drying and breaking your skin, allowing all kinds of crap to get in that way.

Most people are too stupid to use any kind of PPE properly and because they have PPE, they think they are safe and do stupid things, like reaching under a mask to pick your nose.

Yes, masks are not as effective as they say, but dont dismiss peoples stupidity as being a factor in anything you assess.

I have seen people with masks that they had drawn pictures on, and months (years?) later they still have the same mask. Can you imagine how stinking they are?

Top this COVID normism.

Not sure if it's real.

I was in a family gathering recently, and noticed that there was a lot of talk about people having become ill and sickly in the last year or two. There are lots of people struggling with various new health problems, especially heart-related.

A couple of them had also just recovered (yet again) from a lenghty cold/flu which they of course called "covid". But they went on to say that they were happy about having the vaccine, because "imagine how bad it would be if they didn't get it".

Idea for a film.

I think I saw Tiffany Dover at 38 seconds in, the one with the glasses doing the ludicrous and insipid new world order heart symbol, but it was hard to tell due to the dehumanizing animal muzzle covering what was once known as a face, universally considered paramount when identifying humanoid beings pre 21st century.

Idea for a film. Make Them Dance.

An alien race wants to create the perfect obedient worker, but have lost the technology to genetically engineer. They scour the universe for planets where a race of slaves, bred over 100s of generations for desirable traits lives. They stumble across Earth, finding a population of highly suggestable humanoids. Detailed DNA analysis shows a deep genetic substrate of people who accept brutal castration, will live in abominable conditions and attack anyone who points it out. Having lost their higher DNA processing instruments, a prodigous scientists notices something the most slave-like have in common. Joe Biden lawn signs. A rare breed of the most suggestable creature their scientists have ever observed. To root out the most gullable, the aliens arrange an obvious ruse of a fake pandemic. Masks with cutout portions for eating in public spaces. Encourage them to make full body suits out of used plastics. And why not, why shouldn't they dance to show solidarity against the common cold. Staring Kurt Eichenwald.
