The woman's five-year-old butted in, with "And I'm

Bat." When a kid that age is rolling their eyes over how idiotic they think a Spinster is, you can see why they were always held in contempt in society. No wonder Witches in folklore were always childless and wanted to steal babies.
That being said, given how fucked up Millennial Girls are now, it's going to be a horror show in 20 years. I'm expecting a widespread suicide epidemic.
No, it won't be a suicide epidemic. They will take it out on society. I'm telling you guys, these women are insane, yes, but they are also fucking dangerous.
Old useless men are discarded by society. They are sad and pathetic, but essentially harmless. Old useless women will grab and twist and fuck over everybody they can. They have no concept of "sacrifice". For them, their personal failure is their entire universe and they can and will drag the entire human race into it.
Women have massive social power based simply on the fact they are women. They historically ran society because married women with kids are the basis of society. Men existed simply to support and continue them.
For 100,000 years that was perfectly effective because very few women stayed single, they married and had kids. Now we live in an unprecedented time, because so many women are childless and marriage less, and thus insane, completely twisted, their primary purpose and motivation in life missing. Good or bad, right or wrong, that was their lodestone and without it they lose their marbles. There is nothing to replace it, no rudder for them to steer by, other than narcissism quickly degrading to hate.
And meanwhile our society still spends it's time catering to them, not because we've thought it through or made a decision, but because that's what society IS. Society is a system designed by men to cater to women and children.
What do you get when your entire society is catering to people who are fundamentally insane? Remember this society includes a military power capable of killing *anyone in the world* at the touch of a button, or killing *and entire continent* with the launch of a few missiles.
This has the makings of a very strange old Star Trek episode. But we are living in it now.
