Orthodox and Single website review

Orthodox and Single is a dating website/mobile app specifically designed for Orthodox Christians seeking a spouse. It is the only dating app that I have tried that I would give a positive review. The format is simple and easy to use, the price is affordable ($5/mo.), and the women aren't flaky like those women you encounter on secular dating sites. The only downside is that there are not as many users on the site as you would find elsewhere (and many of the profiles are inactive), but this only reflects the reality of the relatively few number of faithful in the English speaking Orthodox world. I give it a thumbs up and am posting this thread so that others who might not have heard of the site can give it a try.

I have often wondered what one could do to encourage membership and make various sites like this, which have positive aims and mean well, more ubiquitous. If I recall correctly, it suffers still from the main online issues (older women), but perhaps that is just something that must be taken as a given. It is international, which was a plus. The last issue I recall that might have been a challenge when I looked a long time ago was that a fair number of fake profiles had infiltrated, most of which were clearly not orthodox.

So I am just curious. Has anyone used this website successfully to find an Orthodox wife (or even a promising candidate)? Or do we know of any other good options or suggestions? Or for that matter, does anyone even know of any single (and virtuous) Orthodox (or at least Christian) women of child-bearing age? Do they even exist? I fear it may be a big waste of time after reading all of the depressing threads on this subject but I have decided in spite of this, God willing, I want to marry and start a family. Please note I am only looking in the US at this point. Thanks for any help (and for reading).

There are definitely single Christian women bro. Probably not enough to go around, but they are definitely out there. And besides, I think the US is on the verge of a huge revival.

Also I think a lot of older members just need to be realistic and realize that you're not going to get a 20 year old in your 30s or 40s. It's like the male version of holding out for giga Chad. If you find one and it works, God bless you. But straight up women are usually looking to marry within a few years of their age. Leaving good women on the shelf because they don't meet every single criteria is foolish if you are serious about settling down.

I used the website for several months and I would say I found one very promising candidate. According to the website there have been 39 successful marriages that have been reported to the site, conceivably there could have been more which were never reported. If you decide to try the site out, they recommend you keep trying for at least six months. You don't always have success right away, although anything is possible.

I have decided in spite of this, God willing, I want to marry and start a family.

I am watching the video now. This is super cool. I didn't realize there was an actual Orthodox priest running the site. Thanks for updating this thread. Looks like they are now reporting 50 marriages btw.

I was thinking the same thing but I will probably give it a shot if and when I become Orthodox. Gotta do things in the proper order.

the thing i hated about the site is the only filter you could use was distance from you. Im also on Meet and Right (made by the Coptics) and Match, and CatholicMatch. Ive also been on a couple other Orthodox dating sites which were so awkward and awful that i can’t even remember their names.By far Catholicmatch is the best designed site. You can filter for almost everything and. You can send messages and receive messages without needing to “like” or be “liked” If the Orthodox could pay Catholicmatch to create a sub-category for is Orthodox, that would be awesome. Also to everyone else looking for a wife, you can definitely go 10 years younger no problem. Im 41 and i’m seeing a 35, a 33, and a 31 year old now. Ive gotten interest from a beautiful 28 year old mexican lady from money, and various others as well. The trick is to be confident, fun, thick skinned about rejection, and recognize that it is a numbers game. All that said, though, I have 2 kids and I want 3 more, God willing, so my priest and I are going to Ukraine for a pilgrimage and perhaps a wife-hunt for me as well. It is horrible out there in the western world because women have been lied to about what will make them happy, so they figure it out around 30 and then the good family focused men are already married to women in their mid 20s.
