"Because the greatest evil that exists in the present moment, is nothing else besides the indifference that leads us towards sleepiness and drowsiness. It leads us to our soul's damnation." Elder Justin Parvu of Romania talks about the spiritual problems of today.

Metropolitan Neophytos says that "the worst of all awaits [America]." He says that there will be a lack of food, fuel, and medicines, in Cyprus and elsewhere, and that people should prepare. He makes it clear that preparing is useless if you aren't willing to share with others in need.

He also recommends to pray, "My Christ, give me the patience and faith of the saints."

You’ve posted a lot of content that will take a while to get through (and I’m working through it bit by bit) but I’m genuinely curious (because I really don’t know at all!) have any previous prophesies come to pass?

Preparing in order to help our neighbor is one thing because it is done out of love.

Whereas I find the hoarding and prepping mania is very fear and ego based and shows a lack of faith that we are counting on our own means and devices to survive whatever is to come.

I must admit I fell prey to this thinking at one point as I had a lot of outside sources pressuring me to ‘stock up’.

God will provide for his children… think about the loaves… the fish… recent elders even describe overflowing pots of food wherein they only put a half a cup of grain.

Saint Matrona even described in the last times that we will take dirt, form them into little balls, pray and they will become edible!

Are there any english books on Elder Justin?
I have only found one in greek- surprisingly his prophesies were very aligned with those of St Paisios re: pandemic, and future events.

Today the Church celebrates The Holy Great Martyr George the Victory-Beare; his story of faith and today's scriptures compliment Metropolitan Neophytos statement you provided.

Holy Great Martyr George the Victory-Beare story and today's Scripture reading can be found at Saint Jonah Orthodox Church in Spring Texas, Father John Whiteford:

Scripture Reading: Isa 43:9-14; Wisd 3:1-9; Wisd 4:7-15; Lk 12:2-12 (§ 63); Acts 9:19b-31 (§ 22); Jn 15:17-16:2 (§ 52); Acts 12:1-11 (§ 29); Jn 15:17-16:2 (§ 52)

The pdf in this comment https://www.rooshvforum.com/threads...nd-ephraimite-monasteries.42604/#post-1692882 includes notes on some of St. Kosmas' prophecies that have come to pass.

One of the most well-known is on page 9, #115. Ali Pasha asked St. Kosmas if he would be successful in his big plans. If I understand correctly, he wasn't just fighting with others of his own status, but he also planned to rebel against the sultan to take his place. "The City" referred to Constantinople that the Turks call Istanbul. The saint couldn't tell Ali Pasha, "You won't succeed and you'll be killed", because Ali Pasha would have killed him. (It wasn't time yet for the Turks to kill St. Kosmas. That was to come later, when God allowed.) So St. Kosmas told him that he would go to the City, but with a red beard. Ali Pasha took it as he would go to the City in victory, but St. Kosmas was saying that he would be defeated and his head chopped off, then his head would be sent to Constantinople with his beard made red by his own blood.

St. Nilus' prophecy (video in this comment https://www.rooshvforum.com/threads...raimite-monasteries.42604/page-2#post-1693021) has definitely come true.

The video in this comment is an account of a prophecy from St. Paisios that has partially come to pass, with the rest to occur soon. https://www.rooshvforum.com/threads...raimite-monasteries.42604/page-2#post-1693044

St. Matrona's prophecy is regarding the time of the Antichrist, when the confessors of Christ will flee into the wilderness, so I don't know if it would be wise to try it now. For one thing, I'm not sure if any of us have faith enough to turn dirt into food. Anyone confessing Christ when the Antichrist is in power will probably have much greater faith than we do.

Our ancestors would store food to last until the next year's garden could feed them because they couldn't go to the grocery store for food. We would be wise to do the same. In the near future we also may not be able to find and afford food at the grocery store. I agree though that we should not hoard food for the next 20 years, as some do. Prudence is one thing, fear is another!

St. Paisios recommended, "So if you can now learn to live simply and frugally, you will be able to get through these difficult years. It will be helpful to have a small field, to cultivate some wheat or potatoes; to have a few olive trees, and then with some farm animals, a goat, a few chickens you will be able to provide for the needs of your family." (Volume II of his Spiritual Counsels series)

In the chapter on the Signs of the Times, St. Paisios talks about both the times we are in now and when the Antichrist will come. These two time periods are very much linked. The satanists controlling our governments are making a big push to bring about one world government and the reign of the Antichrist. Our Christ is going to "slap them down", as St. Paisios says, so that Christians will have time to get into better shape before the Antichrist appears. As Elder Justin says, we are very weak now. We have to do better and help our children to do better. They or their children may be the martyrs of the end times.

I haven't seen any books in English about Elder Justin Parvu, unfortunately. The Orthodox Talks website has a page on him. https://www.orthodoxtalks.com/elder-justin-parvu/. Here's a quote from Elder Justin, "Therefore, please stop looking for solutions. Human solutions are not existent, my dears! The solution is to die for Christ."

Thank you. I grew up watching stuff like: “History Channel: Decoding Nostradamus.” So, to me, if I’m honest, that these prophecies came true is astounding but also pretty terrifying at the same time… not quite sure how to describe it...

There were saints and holy elders who also prophesied what came to pass in Russia with communism. Here are some examples.

https://russian-faith.com/saints/famous-saints-prophecies-about-future-russia-n1143

https://russian-faith.com/saints/famous-saints-prophecies-about-future-russia-contd-n1208

I grew up with weird charismatic-type "prophecies", "tongues" and "interpretation of tongues", plus "Mikhail Gorbachev is the Antichrist!" and 88 reasons why Christ was going to return in '88. When I found out that Orthodox saints had made prophecies some of which have been fulfilled and others that look like they may be fulfilled in the near future, I was blown away. I still find it amazing, to be honest.

ETA: Some of the prophecies in these two links came to pass during the Bolshevik Revolution and afterwards. Some are still to be fulfilled in the future. So I'm not saying that they've all happened yet.
