What surprises me in this statement is the flawed reasoning.Antiochian Patriarch has cucked out on the vaccine:
![]()
Question of vaccination is outside realm of theology, consult your physicians—Antiochian Patriarchate
The Church also calls upon all to face the present situation with sincere repentance and prayer, working to remain united with all in the Church, regardless of differing views on the vaccine.orthochristian.com
It does not follow that just because scientists have a better knowledge of vaccines than holy men that we should listen to scientists. This is for at least 3 reasons:
1. An Athonite father may not have scientific training, or even be literate, but he talks with angels and the saints, who issue prophetic warnings about medical technology, and know far more about science.
2. Scientists are a part of the world, and may be corrupted by worldly pursuits. Just look at Fauci.
3. Science is a process, not a consensus. Those who scream ‘Trust the Science’ do not understand the scientific method, which requires constant questioning of established hypotheses.
I am disappointed in the Patriarchate.
