Just wanted to let you guys know I've been using this new app called Pared, which is basically Uber for people who want to pick up shifts at various restaurants, hotels, and banquet facilities.
You must have some experience in the restaurant industry because they do ask for references, but once you get set up you will get various offers and gigs, letting you choose which one you want. Right now, I am doing 2-3 shifts a week, and pulling in ~$400/wk working as a cook. You could work as a bartender, prep cook, dishwasher, etc.
One caveat: as of right now it's only available in New York and San Francisco.
