I got kicked out of Twitter yesterday for the first time ever, for mild criticism of one of the expert witnesses in the Chauvin trial. They told me I was suspended for 12 hours.

Today when I attempted to log on, it wanted my phone number. Weird that they want my phone number, and won’t let me back without it after all of these years. Weird that they want my identity too, after showing my support for Chauvin in this case.

I tried a burner number, and they won’t accept it. i won’t give them my number.

I got hacked back in January and had to put my phone number on it. In hindsight I may have been better off deleting it, oh well, I'm never using it again anyways. That site isn't worth it.

Weird how time is now. I haven't heard much about Parler in the past few months, and it feels like a blast from the past, like something from an earlier era in history.

Trump is brining out his own social media in 2-3 months time hence I hope it takes off.

For now, I'll stick with Gab. Parler keeps going offline.

Plans to let former President Donald Trump become an active user of Parler got scuttled earlier this year when the social network refused to ban his critics from its platform, according to a report.

While Trump was still in office in January, representatives of the Trump family approached Parler with an offer to have the then-president move the bulk of his social media presence to the platform in exchange for 40 percent of the company’s gross revenues and a promise to “ban anyone who spoke negatively about him,” New York Magazine reported on Monday.

The company was reportedly on board with giving Trump much of its revenues but balked at his demands to censor his critics.

The conversation took place shortly before the Jan. 6 US Capitol riots and Trump’s Jan. 8 ban from Twitter, according to the report, which is an excerpt of an upcoming book by reporter Michael Wolff.

Parler did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.

The social media company, which is backed by Trump allies Bob and Rebekah Mercer, takes a less aggressive approach to content moderation than larger social media rivals like Twitter and Facebook.

If anyone ever asks you for proof that corporations are not entirely profit-driven, use this story as an example. They were more than happy to dump roughly half of what they made, but the sticking point for them was banning leftists from their platform. I wonder how much Parler really likes freedom of speech when it comes to talking about Israel.

Her husband is the CEO now so that's probably why she's encouraging people to sign up. I don't think they'll recover to the level they were at. Too much downtime and too much competition now.
Interesting. Didn't know Owens' husband is the current CEO so I did a search and you are right.

The new Parler CEO, George Farmer, explained on "Mornings with Maria" Tuesday what it took to revive the "free-speech-minded" social media platform and get it back on Apple and Google’s app stores after it was removed over what the companies said was violent and threatening content in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
