It's a good question. In my opinion, SJW infiltration of Linux is the least of our problems. A retarded CoC is harmful to the actual kernel developers, but the users are unaffected by it. It might make people quit kernel development. Then the codebase might degrade. Then the users will be affected by it. Then what? If worse comes to worse, we just switch to one of the other open-source unix systems (bsd or darwin or seL4 or minix or... urp... GNU Hurd ) and carry on our day. The linux ecosystem is more threatened by other things. Microsoft has bought its way into the Linux Foundation (weird, right?), so now they have a lot of sway in the decisions the foundation makes. Microsoft is handing paychecks to kernel developers. They're pretending to be really friendly with open source software and linux, even though their OS still overwrites the bootloader if it detects you have linux installed (not very friendly). I think Microsoft is probably just using their good ol' embrace, extend, extinguish tactics here to try and take open-source software out of the picture. That would be a very Microsoft thing to do. Let's say Linux got destroyed by Microsoft, though. What then? Same solution as before, we'll all just use one of the other open-source unixes. They are all unix systems, so the user experience will hardly be any different at all. All the things you learned on linux will be transferrable to any of the other unixes. The only exception would be kernel-specific things, but few linux users interact with their kernel directly. So ultimately, I don't think we're in any sort of danger out here. We have a lot of plan-B's and plan-C's. As for 'poison pills', do you mean that the kernel developers might lay a trap somewhere in the code, like some kind of keylogger and text-analysis thing? And then if you say the wrong thing, the incident gets reported to antifa or something? It would be hard to squeeze something like that into the kernel. But if they did it, people would notice it. And when people notice it, they'd make a stink about it. And then the people who didn't notice it would hear about it. There are a lot of forks of the linux kernel out there, btw. There are things like zen-kernel and the gentoo-kernel and the like, all of which apply their own patches to the kernel to make it work the way they want it to. The linux foundation doesn't have a monopoly on the final state of the kernel. My system runs gentoo's fork of the kernel, not the one the foundation puts out. If any kind of SJW trap was put into the linux kernel, it would get removed in all of the forks of the kernel, and then upstream would be pressured into fixing it. As for SJWs going after your ISP and your domain name in order to take you down, you're right about that. They absolutely will. That problem is a lot harder than the social media problem is. Custom DNS exists, but you won't get normies to use it. Custom ISP don't exist at all though, unless we're talking about meshnets and the like. Again, normies will never use it.
