Planned internet attack on the power grid

I think this is deserving it's own thread. More and more info is coming out indicating that a cyber attack on the power grid is in the making.

Possible scenario is launching military attack on Iran to which 'Iran' will respond with a cyber attack. This will serve two purposes: to create chaos and break down the economy even further, to create the 'need' to allow strict control of the internet.

The ramifications of such thing will be disastrous for all of us dissenters. I can only imagine that the public will be sold a lie that the internet will have to be much more controlled to prevent future 'attacks' and why not by abolishing anonymity so that every user will have to have his own 'personal ip'. It's not far fetched to predict this.

The internet is a double edged sword for them.

So many people freely giving up their own information for data harvesting which is great for tracking a populations sentiment about topics. Categorizing individuals into sub-groups based on browsing habits. I'm sure there's hundreds of lists akin to "this person is likely to rebel against authority" "this person is in a position of power in their community and we have potential blackmail on them", etc etc.

But it's also allowing global communication at lightning fast speed. It's easier for people to learn things, it's made college pretty much obsolete for hundreds of subjects.

I imagine something like a web 2.0 scenario is more likely, where those data harvesting benefits above still exist but theres no possibility for websites like Rooshvforum to exist. If you want internet you choose from the social media, shopping, news websites packages and you get those. Everything will be toned down and kosher. It's a really horrific thought.

ah the scapegoat iran plan, always the best option. lol. if enough people get involved this would be much worse. the us government needs better encryption, this is why quantum computers will be so useful in the future. valuable data is on the internet, but im sure theres lots of private data that companies have which will be hard to get at if they operate on local networks. so much free information out there though, i love that about people like salman khan and the great people of new england that write all the wonderful wikipedia articles.

There were blackouts in the past that were probably a test run for this and if not at least they are there for us to learn from.

2003 NY blackout

and a 2019 blackout in Caracas, Venezuela

I always thought it was odd how the media painted one of the NYC ones as "a time of coming together" and how everyone helped everyone. It was for 24 hours so it was kind of a joke. I remember seeing people walking home on the streets in big crowds because the subways weren't working or something. Big Happy Moment.

Where I am it's not uncommon to have to go through 3 or 4 days, maybe even a week due to hurricane season. 24 hours is nothing and people are still normal. However, after a couple days, an eerie sort of quiet takes over because people aren't really driving or going out. After a few days, people get restless and will pay almost anything for hot food and alcohol. At night, you know you're at risk of looters or home invasions. It's especially eerie at night.

Speaking of, @Roosh what's the Direct IP address to get here if we're having DNS issues?

God forbid a scenario like this ever took place, how would that affect the general population and how long would it be until things returned to normal?

In 2019 we had power outages across the UK, which is a rare occurrence. The explanations were sketchy, as my region had an outage which wasn't widely reported on or explained. I remember thinking at the time that this is some kind of test outage. I fully expect outages this year along with supply chain issues leading to food shortages. It's going to be an eventful year I reckon.

Modern networks are complicated, and can happen due to many reasons. Computer controlled elements add complexity to the situation. I am also not surprised that no one took responsibility for the mess up, as these power companies are headed by the good ol boys club in most cases.

If a large scale event will happen, I will first think that the reason is lousy security on the programmers side, being probably developed by the lowest bidding sub sub subcontractor. A false flag operation is a close second.

If the grid goes down internet access will be least of worries. No more hot showers, cooked meals in stove/microwave or electric heat/ac. If t
You have a lot of saved up food in a big chest freezer, that will only keep for so long before it goes bad. Need to be solared up or have a wood burning stove.

If you're in the US, it seems one of the best things to do would be to flee to Canada or Mexico...assuming their grid is still up and going. Do you think they would close the US borders if power goes out, preventing people from leaving?
