Potential Chinese Invasion of Taiwan

The Biden regime continues to provoke China with a proposed $500 million arms package for Taiwan.

Well... I suppose when there are no enforcement mechanisms for the rules... You're not breaking them....

Pretty gross. I don't like the Chicoms(as the great El Rushbo used to say) but I don't give a hootenanny about a war with China over that.

There are fools like peter zeihan who are on one side (with the empire)

I tend to align somewhere closer to Bannon and Peter Navarro: the war is here. Let's use economics to diffuse it over overt military action. Coming from the 1 of 4 guys who survived the entire presidency... He was and is on point.

BREAKING: Secretary of State Anthony Blinken gives China the green light to invade Taiwan during his visit to Beijing, China."We do not support Taiwan independence."What a pivot from Biden’s previous comments from just months ago. What happened?"Yes, if in fact, there was an unprecedented attack,” Biden said after being asked if he would defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion.

Sovereignty is different than independence.
I think it's just a word play.

Most countries only have their embassies in Beijing nowadays, and have closed "official" diplomatic relations with Taiwan decades ago.
However, most countries have "unofficial liaison" offices in Taiwan to continue diplomatic dialogue and help their citizens living or visiting there..
It's like the difference between "de jure" and "de facto".
Officially only 1 china in recognised by most countries ....but in reality most countries know there are 2.
It's a strange state of affairs that has been going on since the 1970s.

Taking Blinken's war mongering record into account, I'd say he's just taunting the chinese...

I used to think that people trained in diplomacy were above that, but nowadays seems that taunting the enemy is the US all-jew administration preferred way to ellicit a response. The way they've been handling Putin is a good example of that "style".

Blinken's visit received immediate and hostile backfire:

Pretty funny how these guys used to criticize Trump's diplomacy, there has never been this much foreign policy failure in a single Presidential term in all of American history.

E Michael Jones joked whether Blinken showed up and began the conversation with the Chinese by saying: "Well, my relatives died in the holocaust, so therefore..."

I wouldn't be surprised if that's how he started; the entire haphazard approach to foreign policy has been at the hands of Biden's minyan in his administration. Not sure if there is still enough for a full minyan (10 guys) since Ron Klain left, but close enough.

The whole topic is optics. Officially nothing changed about the One China policy from Department of State, still says so on their web site.
Never mind all of the cheap Chinese crap every congressman's constituent cannot live without. There will be no war with China over anything, not that we could pull it off anyway. Having enough trouble with the puppet in Ukraine right now.

At this point, the war in Ukraine has shown that any military aid to Taiwan will be rendered obsolete. China can easily build an arsenal of tens of thousands of drones and pick off every item, every military installation on an island that is within 250km of their coast.

A war with Taiwan would consist of China first taking out their infrastructure - powerplants, railroads, fuel/oil depots, port facilities, and every landing strip, missile system, radar etc, which would be done in a 48hr 10,000 drone/missile salvo.

More likely China would step up its bombing campaign very slowly and gradually until Taiwan cries uncle, which they will early in that campaign because they're not nearly as dumb as the Ukrainian public and have a lot more to lose as a rich country, they won't want to turn Taipei into a Bakhmut. Taiwan also has horrendous demographics, with almost half as many 20 year olds as 40 yos, not the kind of population that can withstand any kind of a violent confrontation with China...

The main thing for China is to get their ducks in a row economically speaking, and be able to sustain the kind of sanction regime that Russia has endured. The US will have to be very careful escalating to a full-on maritime trade embargo, because the Chinese will not hesitate to up the ante. Like Ukraine is for Russia, Taiwan is an existential cause for China, they would go all in.

People here don't understand. A military invasion of Taiwan is exactly what the USA wants, so China can be isolated on the world stage. The war part is easy and would come later, sub warfare would be king, but as long as the war starts off with China as war criminals then the USA gets legal permission to plunder Chinese reserves, and sanction their industries for their own profit.

China is not stupid, which is why all the war scenario's people here describe will not come to pass. A Chinese takeover of Taiwan would come from within, by the people there, if Xi has his way.

"Isolated on the world stage" means 5 Eyes and parts of Europe. Maybe Japan and S. Korea too, could be a good opportunity for the US to deal a blow to their economies too, the same way the US deep state hit Germany and Europe with the Nordstream attack. You would have to have the equivalent of Annalena Baerbock and Scholz in place there for this to work though, Japanese nationalists would try to avoid war with China, a lose-lose proposition for Japan and SK too.
