Prophecies about Tsarism in Russia and the Antichrist

I think the word “prophecy” is vastly over-used, and with little to no discernment.
Agreed.

I enjoy prophecies and soothsaying for the entertainment of, "what if scenarios".

However, like most forms of divination, it's a distraction. If worded loosely enough, then it becomes wishful thinking and vague like newspaper star signs.

I think one thing is certain when we are speaking about the figure of Anti-Christ: the world has to get to a dire state first. We can see clearly the trajectory we are on today will result in incredible tragedy that will be worldwide. We know from the scriptures the AC will be a false savior. For him to 'save' anything things have to get bad in the first place. Otherwise the deception wouldn't work, people would just ignore him if everything was dandy like 15 years ago. Going by this simple prerequisite we can discern that this is the going bad part and the next part will be his emergence. I don't think it'll take decades but years.
It will happen after a limited nuclear war.

I think the problem with this thread is that this includes Roman Catholic "prophecies." The trad types like Taylor Marshall believe that Russia will convert to Catholicism and that the "Great Monarch" will work in tandem with a righteous Pope to defeat the Antichrist. Of course, this all assumes that the Eastern Orthodox will submit to the Pope.

I doubt the supposed apparition of the Theotokos to the three children of Fatima, and all RC mystics claiming that the future Emperor who will restore the Roman Empire will have to come from the lineage of Charlemagne.

It's the Catholic interpretation. But overall we have the same common elements. Russia becomes a theocratic monarchy and works to defeat the antichrist. I think that we shouldn't get too hung up on the details here and focus on the big picture.

For example, rewriting your post:
After Soviet rule ... Russia will return to Orthodoxy and that the "Great Tsar" will work in tandem with a righteous Patriarch to defeat the Antichrist ... the future Tsar who will restore the Byzantine Empire will have to come from the lineage of the Romanovs.

Although I doubt that there are extant heirs from the old dynasties, probably the Tsar will found his own new dynasty, but we'll live, we'll see.

"The Lord is mighty to raise up His workers if we pray to Him. Let us pray and ask, and then the Lord will lift up His chosen ones from the stones! ”

*** "In the most difficult of times, it will be easier for him to be saved by the prayer of Jesus, from the calling of the name of the Son of God to the unceasing prayer." ***

Prophecie of Saint Seraphim of Viritsa (1866 - 1949) about end of times and Russia:

When asked by a spiritual son about Russia's future, the abbot told him to approach the window and look. He saw the Gulf of Finland and a lot of ships sailing under different flags. - How do I understand this? he asked batiuska. The abbot replied: "There will come a time when there will be a spiritual flowering in Russia." Many churches and monasteries will be opened and even those of other faiths will come to baptize us on such ships. But this will not be for long, but for about 15 years, and then will come the antichrist. "The time will come when Russia will be torn to pieces." At first they will divide it, and then they will begin to plunder its riches. The West will compete in every way possible for its destruction and will give its eastern side some time to take over China. The Far East will be taken over by the Japanese, and Siberia - the Chinese, who will come to Russia - will have mixed marriages, and in the end, through cunning and treachery, they will take the territory of Siberia to the Urals. When China wants to move on, the West will oppose and will not allow it. Many countries will turn against Russia, but it will resist, losing much of its land. This is the war that Scripture and the prophets say will become the cause of the unity of all mankind. People will understand that it is impossible to live like this because everything that is alive will perish and will choose a single government that will be the antechamber of the kingdom of Antichrist. Then the persecution of Christians will begin; when the first echelons of the cities will emerge in the depths of Russia, someone must hurry to be among the first, for many of those who remain will perish. The kingdom of lies and evil will come. It will be so hard, so difficult and awful that God will not let you live until then. But we will not catch those times. If people all over the world, all of them up to one, would at the same time kneel down to pray to God for at least five minutes to prolong their life, so that the Lord would give them time to repent. If the Russian people do not come to repentance, it may happen again that the brother will rise up against the brother. The time will come when not persecution, but the money and deceptions of this world will turn men away from God and perish more souls than in the days of atheistic persecution. On the one hand, they will raise crosses and have golden domes, and on the other hand, the kingdom of lies and evil will be established. The true church will always be persecuted, and someone will be able to be saved only through sickness and bitterness, for persecutions will be as subtle and unforeseen as possible; it will be frightening for someone to reach those years. " The abbot spoke of the important role of youth in the future rebirth of the Church. He said that the times will come (and they have already come !!) when the unraveling and decay of young people's morals will reach the last limits, the lowest. They will almost never remain unpunished. They will consider that everything is allowed for them to satisfy their desires and pleasures, in gangs and gangs, they will rob and corrupt. But the time will come when the voice of God will be heard, when the youth will understand that it is no longer possible to live like this and they will come to faith in different ways, the zeal for the will will be strengthened. Those who were previously sinners, drunkards will go to church, will feel a great thirst for spiritual life, many will become monks, monasteries will be opened, and churches will be full of believers. Then the young people will go on a pilgrimage through the Holy Places, it will be a glorious time. And because they sin now, then they will repent. Like the candle that flickers brighter before it goes out, illuminating everything with the last light, so will the life of the Church. And this time is near. Bishop Neophytos of Morphou ( Cyprus) said that (at least one) a hesychast (bearer of Holy Spirit) said to him that the leaders of Turkey who will come after Erdogan will make even bigger mistakes than him. The climax will be when it will be decided the closing of the straits for Russian passage which will be considered by Russia as an act of war. Then Turkey will be attacked and destroyed by Russia in one week (according to Saint Paisios the Athonite). Very likely Russians will use atomic bombs in Turkey. A third of the population of the country will die. After that, imediately will be revealed that many Turks are secretely Christians (especially in Constantinople) and even more will receive the baptism. The West will encourage to be created thus a Christian Turkey whereas Constantinople will be given (maybe along with other territories) to Greece reacreating a little bit Byzantine Empire.Half of the remaining Turks, who will decide to continuing being muslims, will go back to Asia where their ancestors came from (Turkmenistan , maybe). In the same time Armenians will claim and will receive Turkish Armenia and Kurds will have the permission to create the state Kurdistan also in east side of today Turkey. When Turks will comment about the last , West will argue that since was allowed to be created a muslim state in Europe (Bosnia) so has to be allowed the creation of a new state in eastern Turkey.

These, beside contemporay prophecies, was foresaw and written by Methodius, the Hieromartyr, Archbishop of Patara , in 278 AD:

`He will divide the Ismaelits into three: the first part will be cut with the sword, the second part will be baptized, and the third part will be driven with great anger to the Alone Tree (Red Apple).`

So, it appears that third world war will not emerge suddenly from current conflict in Ukraine but the last will create the premise for the first to start probably after at least 5-10 years from now on.The big political analysts talk about the big probability of the resetting of global balances of power around year 2030 anyway.

I think that the prophecy about war with Turkey applies to the pre-revolutionary Russian Empire. The entire 19th century the Russian Empire was involved in wars with the Ottoman Empire, the Crimean War, the Balkan War, the Caucasian War. During WW1 the Russian Empire was supposed to finally defeat their centuries old enemy, and take Istanbul, renaming it Constantinople. The Russian Empire was very close to completely defeating the Ottoman Empire during the war. If the coup wouldn't have occurred, Russia would have won in WW1. But the timeline had been modified however, invalidating the previous prophecies. We live in some kind of paradox timeline.

This has been discussed and Turkey is only a quasi ally or one of convenience. They can (and I believe will) act up and out, as they have for the last decade or so with Erdogan at the helm, and not be liked for various reasons ... thus jettisoned when other members are considered more valuable or historically more legitimate (Greece, a stronger US ally, and also one of Russia).

I of course am not holy, nor able to see the future, but I can discern a few things or guess pretty well, like many of you all given our personalities, faith, or other gifts from God. I see a multipolar world coming with the US being humbled due to lower standard of living, and plenty of domestic strife due to being used to elevated/fake USD world reserve benefits. How humbled or repented, or in what regions they are most, will determine what happens with the USA. That's why it's important to get out of the big cities, which are total cesspools and run into the ground, already. Not seeing that will cause a personal Gomorrah for you or your kin. What God allows as far as war is total speculation, but I'm pretty sure the plan is a war within the next 3 years given the inability to keep this fake system afloat, especially now that inflation and other failed policies have cornered the politicians, the Fed, and many other "leaders" who do in fact desire a culling of sorts.

What you said would make sense if wouldn`t start a conflict between two NATO members. But in that case, paradigma will be completely changed. If Greece would be in danger to be overwhelmed by the Turkish might what sense would make that the rest of NATO to jump to rescue or even revenge Turkey? My friend, there are not only prophecies of contemporary spiritual fathers but other prophecies along centuries that claim that Turkey will be punished for sins done along the history by the hand of Russians. And that is yet to come.

It`s hard to believe but so will be. One of the greatest saints of XXth century,Saint Paisios the Athonite, said it , other new spiritual fathers and spiritual fathers along the centuries (Methodius, martyr and archbishop of Pataras in IIIrd century, hieromonk Agatangel in XIVth century for examples).Main events:

1. War started between Turkey and Greece

2. Intervention of Russia. Distruction of Turkey.

3. Dispute between Russia and West for Constantinople.

4.Classical war between NATO troops and Russians for the Big City for a limited amount of time. Stalemate.

5. Agreement to give Constantinople to a third party, the original owners, the Greeks. This would be convenient for both sides, for West because Greece belongs to West (practically being the cradle of western civilization) and to Russians because Greeks are orthodox. Thus will be fulfilled the Lord`s providence.

I double replied because I have an interesting dialogue with Saint Paisios the Athonite (1924 - 1994) from the book `Paisios the Athonite - testimonies from the believers` written by Nicolae Zurnazoglu.

-Geronda, I told him further, our country is surrounded by enemies and the big ones (Americans, Europeans) help the Turks in particular.

- The Turks have their punishment ready. A great calamity will come upon them. There will be a collision in the Aegean Sea. But we will not suffer much harm. The great ones will take care… Constantinople will have to be in the possession of the Greeks again. God will help us because we are Orthodox.

- Geronda, what kind of Orthodox are we? Do you know what a sinful life the Greeks lead? Day and night they have fun and roll in sin. How will God help us to take Constantinople?

-There is dough and that keeps the Church and Greece. For this dough God will do what He will do.

- Geronda, but will we see these things?

Then the staretz, looking at the Kutlumush Monastery, from where a large group of worshipers descended, told us:

- Come on, have a good road! I told you too much today. And so we said goodbye to the Elder, full of joy and amazement at his wisdom and kindness.

Strange how you imply that prophecies can be tampered or invalidated, suggesting that God can be limited by events here on earth. You're right though that without the Bolsheviks, Russia could have retaken Constantinople or at least help the Greeks fight the Turks. What happened IRL was that Kemal Ataturk made a backdoor deal with Britain, France and Italy, making the Entente powers backstab the Greeks in the last minute. Even if this still happened in a no-Soviet Union timeline, Greece would still have the backing of Russia (and I highly doubt that Russia would leave the newly formed Turkish republic alone) and retaking Constantinople would still be possible. Britain and France wouldn't want to spark another major war against Russia, given the exhaustion of the Great War.
