Has anyone actually ever seen someone "blame the victim" in real life? The closest thing I can remember seeing is standing in line at a Shell station waiting to buy beer and there was some commercial on the TV above the counter and someone commented about it and this redneck trucker looking guy laughed about how the celebrity was a slut. No one else laughed and the room got a bit tense until he left. Never I have ever seen someone mention a short skirt or anything else when someone talked about being raped or attacked in anyway. Even with muggings I haven't heard people talk about how the person shouldn't have been in the bad part of town or whatever.

It isn't about whether or not it happens in real life, it's about what they say happens, to justify new bullshit laws, or raise funding.
