Their behavior does not fall under the normal spectrum of human nature.

I disagree. I think it is the definition of human nature.

How often do you think the people you work with are idiots?
Every day for me. I think 90% of people I work with are idiots.

As I grow older though I realize this is human nature. This is me thinking that I'm more important, worth more and owed more than I am.

Retirement is essentially a working class concept, related to the decline in physical strength.

Situations that require snap decisions may be for young men, but long term planning is still entirely open for men 80+ years old.
If they get tired easily, they can space their workdays out. There's no reason to completely disengage.

The Koch brothers want to remake America and the world by extension into something they want to see.

Same with Kanye West and George Lucas.
And Elon Musk and Bill Gates. Competing ideas on how the world should be. Some more effective, some more compelling.

The gods battle for their visions and we compare notes on portable generators and brag about bug out bags.

It's a game to them. Self-actualization, if you will.

What would you do if women, cars & money were unlimited resources ?

Who would you turn to if all the people you knows were with you only for even crumb of your unlimited resources ?

How would you behave once you understands that people can be price-tagged and bought ?

Power bring the worst answers to all this questions.

Rupert Murdoch and Warren Buffett are pretty old too. They won't be here forever. What will happen when they finally drop dead?

A lot of the "elite" are either incredibly old or ailing to various degrees. So I'm wonder, what keeps them motivated to continue accumulating more and more power, esp. since they have so much already? I think Soros is 85, the oldest Rockafeller is something like 101. What drives a person to continue down this path vs. enjoying their family and remaining time on earth?

My guts give me following answers: LONELINESS. Or, more precisely, a loud loneliness. Someone said - Tolstoy? - that most of people lives their life in 'quiet despair'. But, being rich - or elite - you have opportunity to be loud.... then, obviously you must be somewhat lonely... both money and achievement isolates you from other, as Camus noted - with an applause, though - in his 'La chute. Your peers are not your friends, not without reason many of them love a 'noble savage'. But against whom a 'noble savage' myth (totally fake, I had lived among 'savages' - most proletarian district of my city for a time - and their is not much nobility there) was created ...? Against elite maybe? Elite in spe? Surely, it is a myth to move people down, not up, so to say.
If you have money, you have possibility to make most of your whims true. Those creations - creations out of your money - will isolate your farther, make you more lonely, hence, will push you more inwards, to make more creations... Sometimes a kind of Nero-like dialectics may appear. Sure, Nero allegedly had Rome put ablaze, but wasn't it a kind of crime which had something admirable for many....? Finally, he is remembered because of that. And he is not hated because of that, too. Who knows? Maybe Soros expects the same.
Somehow not many among elites, or the rich try to immerse themselves in seeking love and family... maybe they know that no woman will love you as you wish to be loved. And frankly, if love can fulfill your wishes, money can do that even better. Moreover, I would say that this tendency to treat love negligibly, is a kind of testimony to their loneliness....
Eternal Faust-Golem-Devil conundrum.

Something wil change but not in revolutionary way...
The more important question is what will happne before?

Dying Cecil Rhodes had I Boer War (so called Jameson Raid) broke out since he did want to see his dream - a British Africa from Cairo to Cape Town - come true. Soon the next war followed.
The lesson: as a member of an elite you do not dream you dreams alone.
But there is still a competition.
If you dream you dreams alone, in fact, you are estranged from an elite... (see my post below on Nero) which brings you naturally closer to non-elite. And you compete only with yourself, as you dream for yourself.

The thing you should think about: A lot of money will change hands. Idk what the old guys have written in their will - maybe it's possible to find it out. Buffett said he wanted to donate most of his fortune.

One thing is for sure: The people who'll get his money will be less wise about it than old Warren was.

It gets old hearing the line about conspiracy theories. A conspiracy theory is the idea that powerful people often meet and make plans to acquire more money and power in secret. That is the history of the world my friend. You know like hitler meeting with stalin to divide up eastern europe, like tobacco companies doing everything to say their product was safe, while knowing the opposite.. The only problem with conspiracy theories, is whether or not it is the correct theory to explain what is happening, where there will always be limited evidence.

I agree with the general sentiment expressed in this thread, that the elites are screwing over the middle class and don't give a $hit about anything except their narcissistic goals to add some more zeroes behind their name or status whore with one ineffectual foundation gala after another.

Here's the catch though. The true conspiracy is that there isn't one. The universe is indifferent.

There is churn in the elite population across domains from generation to generation. The WASP elite has been partially replaced by other groups with different values and heritage. These groups will in turn be replaced by others in the tides of history, and so on.

There is no ubermensch, no one man behind the curtain. There are delta boys that have been at the tip of the spear for globalization's push to bring every country onto the global financial and cultural network, and yet they end up working at a gas station in Fayetteville. On the other hand, stick a guy like Zuck on the ground during the Arab Spring, a conflict that was facilitated by the technology he created, and he'd be f*cked, billions be damned.

The question in my mind isn't what the psychology of the elites are. The question is how would YOU act if you were one of them? Would you still have the moral compass you have sitting on the sidelines?

It sounds easy. But maybe the reality is a little scarier. I believe that there are good men that have made hard decisions, based on a calculus that seemed logical at the time, that have created the homogenized amoral mess we currently live in. I say this constructively. In order to change things for the better, we have to be cold-blooded in thinking about where things went wrong.

The younger elite, whether self made or inheritors of the crown, are even more SJW. Look at Zuckerberg. Soros' son is stepping into the limelight to continue that twisted vision. Murdoch's kids are more SJW than him too.

There is a big division though between the western white elite and the rest. Almost all of the elites screw over the average person when they can. However, only the western white ones are hellbent on ethnic and cultural cleansing of their country. I think some of that is because the western white countries are more democratic and therefore not as easy for them to control. I also think the prevalence of Jews among the western white elite, especially academia and the media, plays a huge role.

Democracy is inherently less easy for the rulers to control, but technology more than makes up for it. Technology in the broader sense, not just in terms of computer science and data mining, but also in terms of modern cognitive science and propaganda theories. The Stasi or KGB couldn't have possibly dreamt up the level of control and information that governments have today, and as Huxley predicted, citizens willingly embrace those control tools, from feminism to Facebook.

You end up with a sophisticated modern type of serfdom where the majority of people think they are free and don't fully understand the means through which they are controlled.

It's mostly people who can't mind their own damn business and are total control freaks.

Just watching Trump running this past year and nearly every one of them losing their temper over it has been hilarious. They hate people like Trump because he's a man of the people. Not one of their own.

Messianism.

Someone like Soros believes he plays a metaphysical, eschatological role here on Earth. He thinks destroying White/Western civilization from the inside will hasten "progress" and fulfill the conditions necessary for the coming of the Jewish "messiah" on Earth.

Most, if not all of these "elite" people, dabble into occultism and esotericism. They are much less secularized than the average chump. They also tend to think for the centuries to come, to think big, in ways the average chump does not even imagine.

There has been a good article on Radix Journal about this: http://www.radixjournal.com/journal/2015/8/17/the-end-is-near

It is important to notice that Messianism is more important than religion itself. God is remote, and one may believe in Him or not. Messianism, on the other hand, applies to the world we live in. A culture revolving around it gives a particular turn of thought, a powerful habitus of seeing one’s group as special and project-bearing. More than God, the global project itself is sacred to the utmost. It may need centuries to be achieved, as well as extreme means, such as exterminating millions of people by regimes dedicated bringing about the culmination of History. The global project will win because it is written in history itself. It is a prophecy beyond doubt, a promise that will be fulfilled, provided that Jews work tirelessly. Individual Jews may believe in God or not: what matters is their cooperation and faith in the project itself. Thus eschatology plays a central role in Jewish identity, as well as their behavior and their activism and social betterment.

What's more paradoxical or profound and mind-altering, in a sense, is the competing messianic visions and how they are almost providentially used to reveal the ultimate truth from those that have been animated by deception. It's fascinating, and, scary.

If you look around nature you will find that you have a lot of sheep and a few lions/tigers etc. It is exactly the same with humans. Natural.
