Overtimes is over.
Game will be decided by best of 5 penalty kicks.
These sort of endings always suck, even if your preferred team wins.

Seems like they all prolonged the game as much as possible, to get the maximum amount of advertising revenue.
Sell outs...all of them.

Maybe they'll still be tied after the penalty kicks!

What a fantastic match, a world cup final to remember. Argentina much better in regular time, but in the end it could've gone either way, Kolo Muani missed a sitter in the last seconds of extra time for France. There was no doubt Argentina would win once it got to penalties, they were mentally sharper plus I've followed Lloris for 15 years and I know he's rubish at penalties.
What a great tournament by Messi, not my favourite player, in a lot of instances throughout his career he showed lack of class and sportsmanship, but he's the best player I've ever seen (fat Ronaldo up there with him). I was not expecting that at 34 years old he could be such a decisive player in winning a World Cup for an average Argentina side.
Messi best player, Mbappe top scorer, Martinez best goalkeeper, Gvardiol best young player.

What did they put on Messi at the celebration? A robe? Like a king? I got the association with the robe of Christ at Pilate. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the meaning behind it. What I did realize this world cup is that sports is ultimately idolatry - it takes all the characteristics of religion with the stadium being the church, the history of the club the ecclesiology, the players the saints, the supporters the faithful. The Argentinians are masters at this. So yes it was a very good tournament - but we should also take a look inside if we let ourselves being taken away by ultimately something as insignificant as sports.

Seems like just about every other person in Argentina has at least 5 tattoos or a sleeve, even the women. Also a very left-wing poor country who was big on covid and worship some dopehead who had a Communist killer as a tattoo on his leg and didn't care for his kids. And you just had to look at the game against the Netherlands so to see the type of sportsmanship they have.

I've never seen so many people care less about a World Cup than this one. Besides I still hold Ronaldinho and Ronaldo as the goats. I know a lot of people just prefer Messi since he is the more quiet, boring and humble type as compared to Ronaldo. If Ronaldo showed Messi's boring persona in media and Messi was the more high energy and cocky guy, they'd prefer Ronaldo. But Ronaldo is definitely the much better footballer and one who played with far worse teammates throughout his career than Messi.
