Greta Thunberg has said the Black Lives Matter protests show society has reached a tipping point where injustice can no longer be ignored, but that she believes a “green recovery plan” from the coronavirus pandemic will not be enough to solve the climate crisis.
Reflecting on the protests that have swept the globe in recent weeks, the Swedish climate activist told the BBC: “It feels like we have passed some kind of social tipping point where people are starting to realise that we cannot keep looking away from these things. We cannot keep sweeping these things under the carpet, these injustices.
“People are starting to find their voice, to sort of understand that they can actually have an impact.”
The coronavirus pandemic had given her hope by showing those in power are able to act when faced with an emergency, but the climate crisis needed to be treated with the same urgency, she said.
“It shows that in a crisis, you act, and you act with necessary force,” she said. “Suddenly people in power are saying they will do whatever it takes since you cannot put a price on human life.

“The main message that underlines everything we [as climate activists] do is, ‘Listen to the science, listen to the experts’, and all of a sudden you hear everyone everywhere is saying that. It feels like the corona crisis has changed the role of science in our society.”
The 17-year-old has been using her time in lockdown to study, despite taking a sabbatical year from school to travel and campaign on the climate crisis. She sailed across the Atlantic last year to attend UN climate summits, eventually ending up in Madrid to address talks originally to have been hosted in Chile.
“I thought I’m just home anyway, so I might as well just jump in the class … in my free time, as a bonus. It doesn’t really count, but I love studying so much,” she said. “I’m really the last one to complain because I haven’t been that affected by this.”
She has also used her time to produce a radio programme, Humanity has not yet failed, reflecting on some of her experiences and meetings over the last year and looking at some of the challenges the world faces in tackling the environmental crisis.
“The climate and ecological crisis cannot be solved within today’s political and economic systems,” she said. “That isn’t an opinion. That’s a fact.”
She is being hailed as a hero, braver than any marine who had stormed the shores of Iwo Jima, for standing up for the noble savage.

You didn't ask me but I'll respond anyway. I don't like using "pride" to describe my heritage since it implies defiance against God, or a Pharisaical idea that I'm more worthy of salvation than someone else. But, there's nothing wrong with being content with one's heritage and recognizing that this is what the Lord has given. I'm not going to apologize for it or let Marxists and blacks put me in a permanent confession booth. There is zero Scriptural justification for it; it's nothing more than the sort of Judaizing which made the apostle Paul furious.
I and others have been critical of (some) blacks for looting and for what seems like the majority of other blacks for excusing looting, for extolling and excusing the worst members of their community, for huge illegitimacy rates, for disregarding crime stats in favor of this false victimization narrative, etc. But I don't expect blacks to deny their heritage either or to not be content in how God created them. Nor do I blame Jesse Lee Peterson and Tom Sowell for black shootings in Chicago and expect them to walk around contrite and confessing their sins about it. Blacks shouldn't do that to whites either.
European descendants may not have come from the same place, but there's a reason why they usually end up moving to areas with other European descendants. Many if not most American whites will increasingly begin to see themselves as a nation as persecution continues to increase.

Unfortunately this isn't going to happen. Most if not all of the officers, regardless of the evidence, will be going down for a long time. There is no way any jury won't have been tainted already and recognise the tension in the air. "Not guilty" will result in more widespread riots and craziness. Now it seems BLM his running away with a victory and it seems like they are getting end up a lot of their goals accomplished. The biggest difference I've noticed is that this time a ton of not only normies but also people with high social status people are coming out strongly for BLM. It's not just blue hair tattooed freakshows advocating but lots of attractive, sorority looking girls who are getting on the bandwagon - Stacy types that 5 years ago would have just kept posting about makeup and taking pictures of brunch are now posting about white privilege. I'm not sure why this happened now rather than a few years ago. The only thing I can think of is that is that the youngest millenials and zoomers that were little kids back then are now coming of age and they've been subject to even more social media programming than millenials in their mid 20s and older.
