I have good news and bad news. The good news is the obese whale, Melissa McCarthy, that was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar tonight didn't win. The bad news is the somewhat less fat Octavia Spencer did...HA HA!

Thats why eat and drink another 2000 calories of sugar after lunch.

I used to watch a British cooking show where they would get fat folks dieting and then teach and cook healthy cheap meals. I was always grossed out at what they ate. The 'crisps' and 'sausage rolls' were always, always, always on their daily menus. Why such shitty food tho, Fat Brits eat garbage lol.

She will get the weight back tho sadly, those wedding cakes don't come in 'lite' versions.

How many pounds does '1 stone' equal?

The fucked up thing about that video (other than having the fat girl in underwear) was that the fit girl was called 'super skinny' as though she were just as abnormal and unhealthy as the other one, and the announcer said she was under eating too... well, no obviously not, if you look at her you can see whatever she's doing is working just fine, fucktard!

Disney is being accused of "fat-shaming" children. Horrors!

Typical end-product of our "self-esteem over everything" culture. We're not about raising kids to do what they need to do and to be better. We're about ensuring that their feelings are never hurt.
Of course, as a result, shit never gets done. Ironic how our generation (the first to be so heavily exposed to the "self-esteem above all" philosophy) is also the most medicated, drugged our and anxious generation we've seen.

Anyway, I checked some of the top comments on that article. I was pleasantly surprised.

Oh give me a break! Did it ever occur to anyone that cartoons like this would INSPIRE kids to be healthier? If kids are fat it is their parents fault, they cannot help it...seriously...it is the PARENTS who need the training. I have boys who play outside, don't have video games and eat whatever they want and are thin, it is because they are active, they were introduced to all kinds of food when they were little, and they even have junk food every now and then and still manage to maintain a healthy weight. I do NOT think this should have been shut down, it is an educational tool to possibly help these kids. Good grief, we played outside, ran with scissors, got beat up, got called names, and even called other people names, we didn't win an award for everything we did, and we still did them...we are living in a land where tolerance and political correctness is KILLING the next generation. We are teaching our kids that no one can call us names, no one can say mean things, no one can act a certain way or stand up for their beliefs, and is it any wonder that we are living in an era where more kids are turning to drugs, or are prescribed anxiety medicine like never before? Teach our kids acceptance and teach our kids values, but good grief quit trying to spare their feelings so they won't get hurt...it is how they learn to be better stronger people...and only step in if the bullying is out of control....is it any wonder why our kids can't function in society when the adults can't even have a thick enough skin to function themselves. We all have to work hard to benefit from things, sometimes we fail...imagine that...and not everyone deserves a reward.
My straight "A" son said to me..."Why bother working hard mom, when the kids who don't even do their work still get rewards at the end of the year, Why should I work harder than them, they get the same reward" .
We are teaching our kids that hard work does not matter, because everyone deserves a reward...WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!

We need to make up our minds! Do we want help from media, Disney, cartoons, etc - -the stuff the kids ALSO WOLF DOWN by the ton as very young children, to condition them to reject overeating and sedentary habits...... or.........do we want an over-abundance of "be who you are" - -even if you'll be type 2 diabetic, hypertensive and out of breath by the time you're in high school, socially hampered, a fashion disaster and crying yourself to sleep at night. Kids don't get fat on their own: they have to have enablers. And they absorb everything. Media prompts, reinforcing school lessons, could be a second chance for kids whose stuck psychologically, or culturally steeped in fatty-cooking parents can't provide the models. If you say "Cinderella" to any of my kids, a specific image comes to mind: that's what she looks like. Not the completely free choice, "dress her any way your little imagination sees her" that MY generation saw their story characters. It works the same way with comments on behaviour, weight: whatever. They buy these images and quack the jargon of their everyday entertainment heros. Grow up folks. Let them think of it as slaying their dragons. They'd thank you at 21, if you could only know that now!

Only in America could we frown on overweight people in a negative light....I mean, it's not like obesity isn't the #1 health concern or reason for sky high insurance costs, right?

Ever notice how fat people lose all the weight and NEVER say "I liked being heavier, being thin stinks"? Or how they go on and on about their weight loss, but yet when they were fat they wanted a pity party and called people mean for pointing out the obvious.

Newsflash, if you think your weight issues have no effect on anyone else, you are dead wrong!!!

By all means, the LAST thing we want to do is "hurt the feelings" of children by suggesting that unhealthy lifestyle and nutrition choices lead to negative consequences.

Seriously... what was Disney thinking??

(Pssst! Go Disney!)

Veggie Tales has been making short video cartoons about these topics among others for years already. This is nothing new. Heaven forbid Disney does something proactive, we can have sex education and alternative lifestyle crammed down our kids throats at school but teach them about being fat and lazy and you really stir the hornets nest, seriously people, really?

I live not far from Disney and we have passes and go quite often. I am not surprised or upset with the exhibit that Disney had displayed. I myself have been over weight for the last ten years and now I am working to be healthy. I know what it feels like to be ashamed of my weight but I don't get mad because someone or some company is trying to educate about it. It is my own fault. This country is going to H____ in a handbasket b/c we can stand up and say what needs to be said. Children should know that it is okay and they will survive if they are the last ones picked for a playground team. They will survive if they are not the ones that win or receive the trophy or award for something. They need to know how to handle disappointment and hurt feelings.

This country is forcing us to raise children that are not going to be able to handle real life situations and problems when they grow up b/c we had to shield them from it when they were little. All the people that are mad about it need to shut up and let Disney do what it feels right in educating people. They also need to shut up about all the "that's not fair" crap they complain about all the time. Deal with it. Life is not fair and if you love your kids you will teach them that now. If you are mad that they are fat - teach them by your own example how to be healthy and leave everyone else alone!!!!!!!! We are tired of hearing you gripe!

With the exception of a few years I have always been fat. It is a health hazard. It is a growing epidemic in this country. If the exhibit "shames" kids into not wanting to be fat then so be it. In the long run they wull be healthier, live longer, cost society less money in medical and disability and be much happier. We have become a society that is so afraid of offending others that we can't stand for anything without being labeled a racist, a homofoab, a sexist, un American or just a plain hater! It is rediculous. America the Beautiful. The most over sensitive country in the world. Congrats!

Seriously people,it is really time to get over this politically correct crap. I am 52 and I weigh 362lbs. Through over eating and stress in life I have done this to my self. I am trying to lose weight but finding healthy food in this over indulgent country we live in is not as easy as it use to be. Maybe Disney has it right. My son is over weight and he is 14. I told him out right he needs to start now and never let up. Each individual at some point is charge of their own destiny. It doesn't help to cook great at home when our children have access to crap almost everywhere they go.

Perhaps there is hope after all? Sense is not completely dead here.

Yeah I noticed that too. It is again about 'equalising' everything. Everything! Cultural Marxism in a sense.
