For what it's worth, Dan Harmon is a confirmed Aspie. I don't know if that explains the season 3 shift, but I think it helps explain Rick's gamma/sigma personality.

The difference between a Sigma personality is massive though it's on the same development track.

A Sigma can get laid easily with women in the prime. A Sigma can also inspire and lead men if he ever desires to and at times he does. Rick is a Sigma. As for Dan Harmon .....

Now I get it why Rick likes redheads:

She divorced him after a year of marriage.

Note how quickly she gained some weight and cut heir hair after marrying him. Women of Alphas or high-status men usually try to shape up, because they feel like they need to compete with his other options.

The only excuse of a Sigma marrying up this would be to have been married when she was 20 and not 38 - she was likely at least a 6.5 when she was young. He is a Hollywood creator - even if not top-shelf certainly able to get hot young things.

Gamma status confirmed.

He is no Rick - Rick is what Dan Harmon would want to be or imagines he is. It explains the constant drinking and drug use of Rick, because Dan Harmon is known to take legal drugs like Adderall and be constantly on it.

Harmon's liberal ranting confirms as much. Rick and Morty was bound to implode if its creator is a neck beard gamma

Personally the biggest change that I noticed was an abrupt shift in Summer's role from more of a secondary character to a much more prominent role. The first two seasons were mostly focused on various facets of the relationship between Rick and Morty, as a Grandfather-Grandson relation and everything else that they embody as a duo. I always thought that Summer was used well in her smaller role previously, but now that they're pushing her to the forefront I'm just bored by everything centered around her.

It came off quite forced to me- forcing a secondary character into the limelight without the character having much interesting to explore in that much depth. An equivalent would maybe be the office, where I felt that the character of Andy Bernard was always much better outside of the spotlight than when he was forced to occupy one of the main slots with the departure of Steve Carell from the cast.

At the end of the day, I'm still entertained by the sheer imagination and possibilities involved in the Rick and Morty Universe, but besides the Pickle Rick episode (which was the shit), I can't say that the rest of this season comes close to the past two.

After I learned of what massive leftists Harmon and Roiland are I was genuinely shocked at how palatable the show was for me. Never would have guessed it after the first two seasons. Even the feminism episode poked plenty of fun at them, not my favorite episode but not bad. There aren't a lot of politics in the show. Except that end credits part of an episode where Rick and Summer take steroids and go beat up "Nazis". That seemed really shoehorned in. Why not go beat up some communists too? Oh...right...

As for this season, it started off pretty well but it's starting to feel like it's all about the character development within this divorce scenario with a little bit of fun crazy Rick adventure stuff happening around it. Instead of it primarily being about the latter with some of the former. I don't want the show to become like the cult following over at reddit and spend every second analyzing shit and trying to make grand thought provoking statements. It honestly feels like more of Harmon's writing made it into this season than Roiland's.

I think I had the biggest(largest?) problem with the last episode and the lack of any realization that Summer is a fucking hypocrite who made a life with that guy in the Mad Max universe then just bailed out of nowhere with total and utter detachment. Much worse than a guy trying to let her down easy and her having a meltdown. Though I think the point is supposed to be the kids drifting into an increasingly worse mental state trying to cope with the divorce or something. We'll see if the show continues to spiral down this path.

Ultimately I think it will get bad at some point, because both creators are super liberal and it's only a matter of time before they just can't resist shoehorning their politics into their baby that is rapidly developing a cult following, a cult following full of those faggot loving liberal redditors that believe the same shit they do.

Anyone else think Roiland has pedoface? Also, won't link them here, but you can find some of his early work on youtube, including the predecessor of Rick and Morty, "Dok and Mharti". Some disturbing shit in there.

Trey Parker's not much better, he's married a ex-stripper single mum.

Compare and contrast Seth MacFarlane.

The show's Twitter page mocks the whole (((triple parentheses))) thing. I have no problem with this in particular, but it's a clear sign that the creators are leftists who are pretty plugged into present-day politics.

Regardless of the writers' political views, it's a quality show that doesn't come off as propaganda in the least, so I will continue to watch and enjoy.

I think MacFarlane is gay. As Mike Tyson once said," No straight man, knows or sings that many show tunes."

Also, I liked the first episode it was fun watching Rick kill all of his enemies in one swoop.

Roiland and Harmon are strange. The avengers episode had them making a sly dig at Israel in a not so pandering way.

If they can keep the overt politicking out, the show will be interesting. When they decide to parody Trump, that may be the shark moment.

Interesting contrast:

Ethan does the honest and honorable thing and officially breaks up with Summer because he wants to start dating another girl (with the big tits).

Now, a few episodes ago Summer fucked Hemorrhage aka Chad Thunderdome in Mad Max world, and basically married and moved in with him.
All while still in a relationship with Ethan, apparently.

Then in the last episode, she went ballistic on him for breaking up with her.

What is the result?
As the after credit scene shows, Morty cronenberged Ethan.

Because he totally was the one that did something wrong here, right.

I missed the post credit scene. I guess what we're seeing is typical white knight thinking, bad writing or a combination of both. It's as slight possibility that the creators of the show want to show the kids's instability is starting to grow due to Rick's adventures. I doubt that's the case though.

On a side not, did any of you guys know that there is a Rick and Morty porn parody. It's of Mr. Meeseeks teaching Summer how to gave a proper blowjob. It's pretty comical.

That would explain it

Who knows - he is extremely high IQ with a very active mind - coupled with high industriousness. We should not forget that many musical creators in the not so distant past of the 1930s-80s were still many heterosexual men.

He appears to be a former humorous Gamma nerd who delved into the sea of pussy as soon as he became famous.

In our times and in his mostly background position there would be zero reason to fake being straight.

That costume would be great for public indecency. Run down the street with your dick hanging out yelling "I'm Mr. Meeseeks, look at me!"

Regardless of his politics and background, McFarlane's got a really versatile voice. I'm surprised how many character voices he can do, and he's got a great voice for classical/smooth jazz music.

Although, at the same time.

When you're in Mr Meeseeks costume & you're finished with a girl (as in complete your task) & then you promptly disappear (ghost).

She can't exactly complain now can she?

Q: "Dan, it seems like people tend to assume you're sexist because you don't shower and have that oppositional defiant disorder edginess that often comes with closet chauvinism among comedy writers, but is it true you're, like, super pro-actively invested in the obliteration of the entertainment industry's glass ceiling?"
A: I'm glad you asked that, Kevin, but you see, even with that question, we're already slipping into progress' biggest impedance within the male worldview which is the unspoken characterization of feminism as some kind of charity or favor. While pro-active steps need to be taken for any effective change to occur, in my opinion, my taking of those steps has never been me "doing right" by someone else. I've only followed my own inner sense of correctness in seeking out the most talented writers of any biological composition on the planet Earth and obliterating the obstacles between them and the achievement of their dreams.
Q: "Can I ask a followup question?"
A: Yes, if that's allowed.
Q: "Can we assume the same goes for race, aren't you, like, unbeknownst to most of the public, a huge advocate of racial people?"
A: Yes, Kevin, I have long said that racial people are just as great in any situation capitalism can muster as their more traditional, non-racial counterparts, but again, please stop giving me credit for making the world better because to me, I'm just engaging in common sense.
Q: "What about LGBTs?"
A: Kevin I hate to check you but I think you left a Q out of there -
Q: "- Oh, fuck -"
A: - Kevin, calm down, we're not going to become better people by punishing each other's ignorance, it's okay for you to be a flawed person. The answer to your question is yes, a thousand times yes, I am an advocate of literally everything it's possible to advocate and you can look that up, there's a paper trail, not that that's what this is about.
Q: "So, in summary, is it safe to say that you're like one of the only straight white middle aged men that the world shouldn't punish for the cultural atrocities of the before-fore times?"
A: Look, you said it, not me! I'm just a writer!
