These are two lesser known gems with Paxton in the lead role:

Trespass (1992) -- very pure early 90s action flick starring BP and Ice T (!), directed by the great Walter Hill.

Frailty (2001) -- Excellent horror/crime directed by BP and starring him as well. By the way, 2001 might have been the very last year in which a watchable horror film could have been made.

RIP to a great (and I don't use that word very often) character actor/"that guy".

Damn...I remember seeing "Weird Science" at the movies. This hits close.

Chet forever.

Wow, me too. That makes us "elder statesmen".

I'm watching "A Bright Shining Lie" on YouTube, a 1998 HBO movie about Lt Col John Paul Vann's involvement in the Vietnam war.

Worth checking out.

Have you read the book (Neil Sheehan)? Well worth your time.

Bill Paxton was a recurring face in several of the staple movies of my childhood: Terminator, Aliens, True Lies, Predator 2.

I always had a fondness for him, sad that he's gone.

Seconded. Frailty is tragically overlooked. One of my favorite movies.

Poignant clip for the forum & current political / social climate.

To be honest, The Last Supper was the only movie I ever enjoyed watching this guy in & maybe is has to do with him getting it in the end. I always found him hard to watch. Hammy, contrived & blunt. But I also always would judge myself as overly critical of him at the same time.
