Serious comment, not joking about this: if food scarcity is a real possibility in the future, then you should really let go of your fears of 'high meat.' I would suggest going online and watching many people who speak about, prepare, and eat aged, rotten, 'high' meats. People who throw away perfectly good meats, cheeses, and soured (raw) milk because of germophobia and the fear-mongering of the scientists of past 100-150 years will be far worse off in the event of food shortages.

Learn how to store meats and learn that they are safe to eat, even when rotten, if stored properly. I recently ate year-old liver, aged in my own fridge. It tasted like sherry. I actually enjoyed it.

I have been eating raw meat, eggs, and even rotten meats for over a year. I have not once gotten sick or even an upset stomach from them.

I agree totally with Roosh. Faith must come first. Faith in His Providence. Make some sensible preparations if possible. Know where your local farmers are, find out if some of your neighbors have chickens or goats , but do not freak out or go to extremes and lose your Peace thinking you must save yourself from any and all possible circumstances. God does have a plan for you and your salvation and to recognize that path you must be listening carefully. You can only do that with Peace in your nous. Life within the Church, with access to its Holy Mysteries, is an essential part of maintaining that Peace.

Regarding the Bob Dylan clip: Many people don't remember or realize it, but he went through a period in the early 80's where he was a professing Christian and made three albums about his conversion experience (Saved, Shot of Love, Slow Train Coming) and have even seen some documentaries on this stage of his career.

Not sure what happened or if it was genuine..

After reading the biography of Father Seraphim Rose by Hieromonk Damascene, I'm avoiding secular music and listening to more Bach, Handel and Orthodox chants..

Christians don't do this. They prefer beatings, dishonour, and poverty, to temporal riches, fame and glory which fade away, as St Paul indicates in his writings, this is why 11/12 apostles were martyred.

There's an excellent example in the Lives of the Saints today, (Old Calendar) St Theodore the Studite, who excelled in the life of virtue, and was a abbot of a monastery at the time, then imprisoned, tortured, and starved for 7 years when he refused to capitulate to falsehoods promoted by the iconoclastic Emperor Leo the Armenian.

I'm confused by the statement about Kyle Rittenhouse being the Greatest Hero of the 21st century, next to maybe some men who fought in Afghanistan or Iraq.

I realize we have essentially no heroes or role models in our society any more. It's a problem I've often lamented.

So I get that there is rejoicing at the fact this kid is not going to spend the rest of his life in prison, and I under celebrating it and memeing the heck out of it and going overboard a bit and exagerrating.

Kyle might actually be the greatest hero of the YEAR, (which is sad in itself that the best thing we can point to this year is someone killing someone else), but of course if we are looking at the entire 21st century we have to include Alex Jones, Edward Snowden, Andrew Torba, Glen Greenwald, the creators of Bitchute/Odysee/dlive/etc, Julian Assange and all the truthful revelations of wikileaks, Adam Curtis, Ron Paul, etc, who have had far greater effects and required much greater sacrifices. But we need some good news, and a little hyperbole on behalf of Kyle is understandable.

Interestingly I would say the end of the Afghan War is one of the best things to happen this century, which is why the second part of the statement really confused me: What could a soldier possibly have done in Iraq or Afghanistan to be the greatest hero of the century? Murdered more Afghan men, a la American Snipopath Chris Kyle?

Perhaps if you were defending your country against foreign invaders, that could be considered heroic, but as an invader? A heroic invader?

So if some guy killed a few more Afghanis and turned the tide and the US ended up winning, and all the Americans over there teaching gender fluidity and enrolling females in college and promoting tranny rights got to stay there and indoctrinate the people of Afghanistan... I guess I'm having trouble understanding how that is the most heroic event of the century. Maybe it was all a joke and it went over my head, but it didn't seem like it.

I know we are in rather bleak times, but surely we can point to SOMETHING positive, ANYTHING other than the killing of other people, even if they ARE bad (which I would agree with in Kenosha but not in Kabul) as the greatest event of our century. Killing? That's the greatest thing we have accomplished in the last 20 years? Really? I think a more interesting theological discussion is whether killing could ever be a wonderful (not just tolerable, but heroic, laudable) act.

Roosh, about Russia : the fact that Putin calls Schwab "a friend" means nothing simply because it cost nothing. I don't have any doubt that Putin is an Orthodox man, he prooves it many times by restoring the faith in his country during his first term and promoting family values.. yet he's a true pragmatic man, he's into the realpolitiks. It doesn't cost anything to call Americans "our partners" and Schwab "my Friend" or french president "cher Emmanuel" ("drogoi Emmanuel").. on the ground it's a different story : Putin was the only "western" president to kick the ass of ISIS in Syria and, at the same time (2015), building the biggest mosque in Europe in the heart of Moscow (actually a cathedral mosque, as a symbol of joinning both faith). This is important.

What does it cost to make a speech about world climate ? nothing. yes there are "issues" with pollution (I guess), the fact that in Russia, temperature rise by hald degree in 10 years.. it's a fact. it's not due to human activities but to solar cycles. There's no need to fight for speech battle in a "non issue".. Russia remains a big gas and oil exporter, has built many pipelines to supply Europe.

Russia has a new consitution now, pushed by Putin. it specify clearly the fundamentals of family and conservative traditionnal values. he is attacked in the west for being against homo-globo agenda, against trans.. but he doesn't care. because this is important and vital to the country.

about the covid restrictions, Russia is one of the lowest vaccinated country among the "western" ones (38%), Here in France we are close to 80% .. yet we have new measures that are way more restrictive since 25/11.. in Austria, with 67% vaccinated people, they just close down the country. In Russia, only few measures and it's very easy to "cheat" there, you can just buy a certificate and people don't care frankly. In France if you're caught with a false certificate, you can go 5 years into jail and pay a fee up to 75000€.

it's not black or white, Russia still a better country for someone who want to preserve his faith and have a hand in their own destiny.

PS : I just remember, since you love bees : in 2016, the state duma in Russia prohibited the use of Glyphosate.
