How do the East Europe guys (Ukraine or Romania, for example) stay in the same country for a year or more?

I haven't found info on being able to stay in Ukraine or Romania for a year or more without having to leave.

If it was possible to stay in Romania long term, that would be a country I would explore, the Romanian girls I've met stateside tend to start flirting with me, so it's pretty cool. Interesting accent, also.
