This is the song of the junkers (cadets), students of the Guards school. It reminisces how they used to have dates with their girlfriends and drink wine. During the coup of 1917 they defended the Moscow Kremlin valiantly, and they were slaughtered by the attacking Red Army.

Very sophisticated culture, much better than any dating in the west, such as stupid nightclubs or movie theaters.
