RVF is closing on October 29

Best of luck to all of you guys.

Aloha!

It’s been a while since I checked in and while I was greatly saddened by the news of it closing I’m now very happy to see that the fellowship created here can continue at the new forum.

Since I joined in 2013, what I’ve always respected about Roosh was his relentless pursuit of the truth no matter where it leads him. (Some of these were extremely entertaining and funny of course… )

If he has decided it is time for him to move on then I trust his reasons. Thank you, Roosh for creating this place. God bless and Godspeed to you.

After 15 years of the Roosh V Forum (which had its very first thread in August of 2008) now is the moment all of us true men pack up and take with us the many treasures we found on RVF, say our thanksgivings, and and ride off into the sunset on our own horse, just like Clint Eastwood at the end of the epic spaghetti western film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".

But before we go...we have to make sure we forgive all those who trespassed against us....including all the the many banned forum members over the last 15 years....and even our bitterest enemies !

Remember to forgive, and do not leave anyone hanging at the very end !

Godspeed to everyone.

After 15 years of operation, I've decided to close the forum, a decision I've been contemplating for a while and about which I informed the moderators a few days ago. No reason I give will be sufficient for those who enjoy the forum, but I'm ready to move on from public internet life. I have a regular job now and want to live a normal Orthodox life. This forum is a hinderance to that end.

The forum will be closed to new posts and threads on Sunday, October 29, 2023 and will remain online as an archive for a time. You may post until then (while still following the rules). I will not sell the forum or allow the domain to be used by anyone else. For any spinoff forums that are created, use them at your own risk (I maintain the right to ban any external links that are antithetical to the Orthodox faith).

I know this forum is a central place for many people to get their news and discuss ideas with others, especially while the world is facing escalating conflicts, so forgive me if this decision upsets you. Thank you for everyone who has contributed to this forum, especially the senior posters and moderators @Nineteen84 and @DanielH. If it is blessed, I may return in the future to publishing content in some form, but I don't foresee starting a forum again.

Update 1: Outside of this announcements subforum, forum is only visible to members who are logged in.

Update 2: An archive of RVF will be kept online until at least December 1. If there is any content you want to save, including your own posts, make arrangements by December 1.
Thanks for everything Roosh. It's been an honor listening to and reading your work these past few years. You have done and will do so much to further God's Kingdom on Earth. God will bless you and your journey, brother.

My first and last post here, been a lurker for years...

Thank you Roosh and all other members for passing the wisdom that has greatly influenced my life decisions, positively.
God bless you in your future endeavors and keep always seeking and doing God's will in life!

I believe that the date of this bitter-sweet moment is not random:

Christus Vincit, Christus Regnat, Christus Imperat !

You have saved lives and done so much good in such a short time. God has surely blessed you for all you have done. This forum means so much to so many people. As a final request I plead that you give us members a few more months of time to draw from this forum’s great wisdom and knowledge and simultaneously allow us some time to spread the closed forum as far and wide with friends and loved ones. With that I salute you Daryush Valizadeh and thank God our Holy and Blessed Father for the immense blessings He has spread through you. Also, if it be His will I also long for the day to encounter you in the flesh, but if not in the flesh, in our new bodies in Heaven above. Thank you a thousand times over once again, as you deserve so much gratitude. Sincerely, Branson from Seattle.

Goodbye RVF,

The forum closing should be a reminder that all things come to an end, your time and attention is a limited resource that you don't know how much you have in this life. We choose what we want to direct it towards in this life, sometimes willingly, sometimes dragged along by impulses/vices.

May you all have/gain the strength to consciously walk through this life wherever it leads.
God bless

The forum is now permanently closed. If we were all in the same room, and I had to give this goodbye face-to-face, it would be difficult to restrain my emotions. I wish I had an inspiring goodbye message for everyone, but few words come to mind. I want to give a heartfelt thanks to all the men (and women) with whom I've engaged in fellowship here. This forum was a big part of my life for so many years and ultimately played a role in putting me into the Orthodox Church. God will judge whether this forum ultimately served a net good, but at least for the past few years, I can say that a lot of truth was shared here, helping people navigate an inverted world with growing faith in Lord Jesus Christ. If you received any good from the forum that put you on the path to salvation, thank not me but God.

Forgive me if the forum led you astray in any way. Please keep me in your prayers (my baptismal name is Darius). May the grace of God be with you.

"We do not know what tomorrow will bring. We may unexpectedly find ourselves in the courthouse of God, and then we will bang our heads against the wall in regret; however, forgiveness and correction will no longer be possible. Currently, we have the blessing from God to be alive. We have not yet departed from this life. We still have the right to repent; we have the ability to emend our criminal record, and to lead a light-filled life. We should thank God now that we are still breathing and capable of voicing a word of repentance with every breath. Let us correct our life today, now that we have time, now that we are able to walk, now that death has not yet arrived."
--Elder Ephraim of Arizona in The Art of Salvation

"No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God" (Luke 9:62). That is, he who thinks he can be saved while looking back at what he should abandon for the sake of his salvation is not being saved, is not heading toward the Kingdom of God. One must once and for all be done with everything that is not compatible with the work of salvation."
--Saint Theophan the Recluse in Thoughts for Each Day of the Year
