Saints who have struggled with anger

If Lent has made one thing clear, it's that anger/short temper is a recurring struggle for me. Family issues and lack of sleep have made this an even tougher battle so I'm looking for suggestions of reading materials and/or saints who have struggled with their tempers.

I haven't, which ties into family issues impacting my ability to attend church, but I'll save everyone the opening of that can of worms. It's clear I need to though as it's something that I've been praying about but seems to come back each day just as strong or stronger than the day before.

I don't know of any Saints in particular that struggled with anger.

I've heard it said that when someone provokes us to anger, we must recognise that it is the devil leading them astray which is provoking us rather than the person. And it is Satan whom we should be righteously angry at. If he provokes our anger towards another person, he has not only led them astray (in getting them to act in provocative ways) but has caught you in his net too.

It takes a lot of patience to fight passions. Its not likely that it will go away quickly. Saint John Climacus says we should fight the spiritual battles bravely and with joy, being resolute and courageous. If we give in to despondency and thinking "I will never overcome this" etc the demons will attack more fervently seeing the lack of resolve, be resolute and always get up when you fall. You may fall every day, but don't give up or give in to despondency.
