Saturday Sabbath?

As Christians we attend church on Sunday because we do it to remember that it was on a Sunday when Jesus Christ resurrected. However what is most important is that we set aside 1 day a week to worship Jesus Christ. So if you are in a Muslim country and Friday is the religious day, then it is acceptable to attend church on Friday and rest that day. If you are in Israel and everything shuts down Saturday, then it is acceptable to attend church that day.

I have been wondering about the sabbath too for years because it is part of the ten commandments and was actually around before the ten commandments, the only people I see really observing the sabbath around me is the seventh day adventists, my one customer from the past even refused to pay me when I arrived 30min late and the sabbath had already started.

Me as well. We are told to "remember" the sabbath. Like somehow we would forget?

There's a major discussion of this on this thread here:

No.

Christ sanctified Sunday as the day He rose from the tomb. Thus Sunday marks the creation and the fulfillment of creation. The book of Acts speaks about gathering to break bread on the first day of the week so clearly it's been the case for a long time.

Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath, He can change it if He wishes. We do not celebrate with those who killed Him

Is Saturday the day we should be holding Liturgy?
This is from Justin the Martyr;
But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.

I don't know about the Slavic languages but in French and Spanish they refer to a week as being eight days. (cada ocho dias = every week) for this reason.
