SCOTUS: 1964 Civil Rights Act now applies to transgenderism and sexual orientation. Soon: Christianity labeled "hate" group.

When evil shows itself, it loses power, for it is born of folly, and forged in deception. Only in the dark can it grow in immensity, in strength, but out in the open, in the light, for all to see, it will shrivel like a pair of old grapes.

The only thing stopping a true warrior from taking over this demented system is their soon-to-be half-ass security forces and agents running down everyone with a modicum of strength to challenge their beckoning masters. The devil worshipers in American politics are revealed, now, you know. the entire system is rotten, starting at the head.

Right now it's hard to escape the sense that the only reason the dying Leviathan still rules is because nobody wants to step forward and bear the brunt of it's death throes.
Good point. Look at the twisted, demorphed, dying sodomites who ran in the democratic primary. Those are the people willing to ride this bull to its demise. Or they're genuinely too arrogant and conceited to think that could happen under them.

Good comments.

If you read the dissents in this case and the California worship restrictions case, two things are striking: 1) the transparent deceit of the majority (from framing issues to misapplied precedent) and 2) their irrationality. It's ironic that those who are pushing "Transmania" consider themselves very urbane and sophisticated, yet their work product is sloppy and ill-conceived.

The post-Christian era is going to be much closer to Idiocracy than Star Trek.

Food for thought:

Ahh, yes, the (((Federalist Society))) that picks all our Supreme Court nominees. What a conservative and rock ribbed institution it is! Not!

The bizarre thing about this ruling is that it totally ignores the law, when the Supreme Court is only supposed to make decisions on what is currently legal or not according to code.

One of the people in this case was a skydiving instructor, who strapped himself to a woman and told her "don't worry-I'm gay!" as a way to calm her nerves about being that close to a strange man. I don't think this man should have lost his job over that. But there is clearly no law that prevents it. The civil rights act of 1964 enumerates what is protected: race, color, religion, sex, national origin. 5 things only.

There are some other groups that it may make sense to add to that group (what about familial status?). But the 5 groups above are the only groups protected under the law. If we want to protect gays or trannies from losing their job, then we pass the Gay and Tranny Job Protection Bill of 2020 and Donald Trump can parade around talking about how he is their best and greatest defender. That is how our system of government is supposed to work. This latest ruling shows that rule of law is all but gone in America and we will soon become as corrupt and arbitrary as the banana republic nations we used to ridicule.

In third grade our class enacted a courtroom project where I played the role of judge. Someone tried to bring the teacher up on some charge (I think to get rid of her and just have anarchy and recess all day). After a long hearing that lasted the entire day, I presented my ruling: There is no law that this teacher has broken, and therefore she is not guilty. Not a popular ruling with the all white class to exonerate the black female teacher but since they forgot to pass any laws, it was the correct one. Today I guess one would have to just rule on feels.

I noted to friends that he was a member of a very liberal Episcopal church (St. John's) in Boulder, CO with a woman rector.
After Unitarians, from what I’ve seen Episcopalian Churches are the next most likely to be flying a rainbow flag.

One of the most depressing rulings in recent times.

The cultural power of the left is immense: they control media, academia, large corporations, much of government, the judiciary, the military, and a large number of the churches.

The much lauded Supreme Court picks will end up being useless. Gorsuch has already failed. Kavanaugh is a male feminist (I am not recalling the details but I remember much talk about promoting and mentoring women etc during the rape accusations.) This will eventually result in some very damaging decisions.

An argument many Trump shills have made is that while Trump has accomplished nothing, his supreme Court picks will delay the destruction of America by a generation/30 years (whatever time frame they believe it will be.)

The truth is, by making zero dent in the demographic war being waged on socially conservative/right wing America, Trump has guaranteed a bunch of seats are added to the Supreme Court to be filled by various communists, queers and devil worshippers.

It's better having Republican squishes like Roberts on the court than SJWs like RBG, but anyone thinking that the court is going to be a bulwark, standing alone, preventing constitutional rights from being trampled.... That's not going to happen. The elites wouldn't allow enough difference-makers on the court to do that. When it's time to make up a new "right," they'll find 5 or 6 votes for it. Nearly all the court's supposed victories for "our freedoms" involves overturning local and state decisions in favor of ones increasing the power of the federal government. This was what effectively happened with Roe and Obergefell. The court invalidated state laws in favor of globohomo.

The Left has been whining about cReePiNG FasCiSM ever since Trump's campaign started. For once they're correct about something, although they would be shocked to realize why. We are moving towards actual fascism in the US: a faux-capitalist economy where you can "own" a business but the government controls it. What makes fascism so dangerous is that it disguises itself as free enterprise. With the Left's bread and butter being an awe-inspiring ability to lie to themselves, it's hardly a surprise that they see fascism everywhere except where it actually is. And it appears our "conservative" judges are lining up to help the Left realize their dystopian goals.

"Hey citizen, you can open a daycare. But if you're conducting job interviews and a candidate walks in wearing a NAMBLA shirt, you can't discriminate against him based on his sexual orientation, you fascist pig."

Welcome to the Brave New World, comrades!

If Democrat nominees controlled the Supreme Court we could kiss religious liberty, guns, and free speech goodbye. I know we are losing culturally on all those fronts, except maybe guns. But we don't have the full weight of the Federal Government coming down on us yet. When free speech and religious liberty protections are gone, we will find out the persecution by the Feds will make persecution by corporations and local governments seem like minor nuisances.

I didn't realize how bad this ruling was. Jordan Peterson became famous because he insisted that men and women were two different biological sexes. It may now be illegal in the US to say that.

As Alito notes, the Supreme Court’s addition of “gender identity” to protected employment classes may cause lawsuits claiming “that the failure to use [transgender people’s] preferred pronoun violates one of the federal laws prohibiting sex discrimination.

It makes all the worst nightmares of public school teachers teaching kids about chopping their weiner off seem very probable.

The Republican-controlled Senate should refuse to approve any bill that provides funding for the Supreme Court. Congress cannot constitutionally lower the justices' salaries, but they can refuse to appropriate all other funds, so that the justices have no secretaries, no clerks, no building upkeep or maintenance, no computer staff members, no janitors, no security guards, etc... But the Republicans don't have a backbone and aren't going to do it. They'll say "It's the law of the land now," and they will continue to send millions of dollars to the court.

The Mormon Church views this nasty scenario as basically their number one potential nightmare situation. That nice 100 billion dollar nest egg, all the church buildings, temples, bishop's storehouses for the poor, commercial investments, etc. could be seized by the federal authorities if the MC lost a case before the supreme court on this crucial matter, and refused to relent. Mormon senior leadership feel like they are walking through a mine field in regards to the LBGTQ movement, because of the possibility that the movement will "weaponize" the law to crush the MC, if they don't become fully accepting of their LBGTQ membership. This was nearly done in the 1880's, over polygamy.

Good article. Makes you realize that it is Ridiculous how companies can fire you for saying something (which is protected by the first amendment, written in 1776) but can’t fire you because you happen to be black, gay, or trans - protected by something written in 1964 and now 2020.

Seems to me that today‘s conservatives are conserving the ground that was taken after the march through the institutions succeeded.
