Self directed IRA

My Dad has about 100k sitting in bonds right now. I'm afraid with the way things are going that money is going to disappear with the advent of dollar crash. Does anyone know of a decent company to move cash into self directed IRA? Trying to get him diversified with gold/silver while we still have time.

Can't speak to the reliability of the company and I'd prefer to hold my gold in non-retirement accounts like IRAs, but I know Peter Schiff touts these and I agree with him in a general financial / political sense.

Anyway whatever you end up doing I can't imagine you'll do much worse than bonds. The interest being paid on most bonds isn't enough to cover inflation.
