Bump,

I've been invited as a prospetive member to a social club on SoCal that has some serious membership.

The meeting is in 2 weeks. I'm very excited. Has anyone gone through this process? What can I expect and how should I approach it?

On a related note, I'm a member of a country spa near me. The facilities are excellent, and as mentioned, it's inspiring being around successfull people all the time. You will find the ones who truely have made it don't brag about it.

I was recently invited for a special night/event into one of the Soho Houses (one of their top 3). The person who invited us seemed to make a great deal out of it, we each had to send a picture of us for 'approval'. Once inside, it was not any different to what I would consider a high-end nightclub, but more quiet (the venue/event was held outside). Met a few interesting people (lawyers, real estate investors..), quality of women same as a high-end club and many rich kids with not a care in the world. All-in-all not impressed (1. I never heard of the Soho Houses before 2. Only doing some research afterwards I found out some people consider them a big deal) especially not after knowing the yearly fees and having the feeling to being forced to go there now and then to get my money's worth.

Depending on where you are I'd rather use that money for something else and visit rooftop or beach bars of 5* hotels.
