Slight weight gain = many more compliments from girls

Crap. I just realized that Starting Strength made me "obese". BMI is bullshit anyway. Wasn't it based on the weight/height of Frenchmen circa 1900 for insurance purposes? (Or something like that?)

I'll chime in with my experice here too.

I'm one of those guys that naturally skews skinny and since I eat healthy I often tend to stick around the 165 range.

A lower body injury put me out of the game for almost a year and as a result I shot up to 180. I'd say maybe I put on 3lbs of mucles during that time at the most.

As long as I had a shirt on the compliments like, "You look a hell of lot sexier now that you're not skinny" seemed to be free flowing.

I think what goes on is that as long as youre not a fat ass your added weight gain gets perceived as muscle when you are cloaked in a long sleeve shirt.

The girls just see wider shoulders and larger arms. They aren't smart enough to realise that your new 15" bicepts are 30% more flab....until it becomes beach season
