INB4 tin foil hat people say Sony hacked themselves and made a killing on the spin machine for a mediocre movie during the holidays. They never lost anything crucial. its not as if someone ram raided their bank accounts.

But their stock should fall for such blatant failures. This and the compromise of Playstation customers some time ago.

How is this such a Conspiracy Keanu theory ?

It would be a brilliant ploy as a false flag, there have IP reports showing the evidence is pretty weak to think the NK's did this.

It could of even been an inside job, we'll never know, but it's definitely not a tin foil hat area.

False flag attacks are tin foil area. Yes they exist but still.

It is important to distinguish between his acting (where he has little control over his lines or role) and everything else. He's produced and written for a LOT but only co-directed This Is the End (my favorite end of the world movie ever) and The Interview, both with his lifelong friend and collaborator Evan Goldberg. I haven't seen anything on that list that seems sjw to me. In fact most of it seems like stoned out buddy films with red pill moments.

Plus he also seems to be a decent human being:

I think you might be confused about who watches and enjoys his movies. I've heard my liberal ex-friends complain about how crass and offensive his writing can be. Besides McLovin has mad game.

Google his name on RVF...have you read his Tweets ?

I'm completely serious, but I'm only commenting on his body of work. It is possible that his twitter is full of sjw crap but I don't use twitter. So as long as it doesn't bleed into his AMC adaption of Preacher I don't really care. I will search his name here though.

27 thousand people are downloading at this moment. These are just the ones who are downloading currently, not the ones who have already finished or the ones who will start shortly. This might become an all-time record. There is no way this was a publicity stunt. If so, it was terribly calculated financially. The average person would choose paying over downloading only if it's in a movie theater and he will be able to go there, watch it with high quality stereos and have nice time. No one will pay 6 dollars to watch it on Youtube now when they can just click on the next bookmark, download and watch it in the same quality. Even the ''ethical'' people will download it now as a big fuck-you sign to ''coward'' Sony.

I agree. I am more interested in seeing if this changes the landscape of movie distribution. Will we see a move towards bypassing cinemas and going straight to VOD? As someone who rarely goes to the movies anymore and prefers downloading, then buying blu-rays if the movie is worth it, I would not mind paying $6 for a movie with good reviews on YouTube or something.

It's just a massive publicity stunt and a test to find out if dummies will pay the same price as a movie theater to see a movie at home, expect more movies to be released simultaneously online and in theaters from now on

Where do you live that first run movie theater tickets are six dollars? In New York the average movie ticket is 16$ the cheapest first run theater is 9$ but it's not the best. At least they serve beer.

Give me a VOD and I will be all over that.

Watched this today it was funny, not as disrespectful to North Korea as I anticipated. It wasnt as good as this is the end but a decent movie and im thankful to be able to watch it at home for $6 bucks versus driving to an overcrowded theater during the holiday season.

Good movie, a lot of "What the fuck....." moments. Funny as fuck.

Torrented it but will rent it on youtube so Sony gets their fair cut for making me laugh.

Saw it.

It was a slapstick comedy.

It had its funny parts, but overall was nothing really special.

Still, amazing there was so much drama over the release of this film.

It had some stretches without laughs but overall I really liked it. Watched it with two other people for $6 total instead of $36.

Maybe not a publicity stunt but SONY didn't let a "good opportunity go to waste". After the twin towers fell that site become the most corrupt development play in American history. To much shady stuff went down to erect the new Fredome Tower but the snakes didn't come out until a unforseen event happened to open the door.

SONY and the other big Studios have been musing how to go direct to consumer for s long time. This is the future as media corps look more and more to bypass traditional outlets. They got hacked but likley decided to use this as a testing ground to see how much people will pay for a over hyped blockbuster. Watch by next summer as another big blockbuster will follow suit.

I saw the movie today. It was available online through google play. It was a pure slapstick comedy. It had a few funny moments but overall was just meh.

There was a lot homosexual moments that frankly I found very unnecessary. This movie along with 22 Jump Street had a lot homoerotic moments that leaves me wondering if these actors are switch hitters.

I think their premise is that they found gayness funny when in fact it's a disgusting behavior.

More boobs and less dicks please :)
