Sport leagues and players fighting 'systematic racism'

To put those numbers in perspective, the NBA went from 18M viewers in game 6 last year to 6M this year. That is a massive collapse. I do expect that with a regular season played in its normal window, higher ratings will be trumpeted next year. That is, they'll be higher than this year but well off what they were in 2019. TV as a whole is dying-- top-rated shows other than the NFL draw around 7M viewers, contrasted with 180M who get their propaganda from Netflix.

The spell has been broken for me and a lot of people. There was a point in my 20s where I pretty much quit playing video games. Another where I stopped enjoying the rides at theme parks. It's hard to describe, but there's a point where you go from being "inside" the camp to outside, and you know you aren't going back. I wonder why I ever cared about some guy's stats.

The sports leagues committed suicide. it will be a Long long time until they get their ratings up. To be fair, COVID messed a lot of it up, but promoting sketchy individuals into martyrs does not sink well with many.

The lesbian league WNBA, pushed the Breonna Taylor agenda down every bodies throats. Once the facts came out, her boyfriend indeed fired shots. She gets hit, but whoever on here watches the show “the first 48” know that if you are involved in a criminal activity and your friend gets killed, you can be held accountable.

For example, the WNBA takes millions from the NBA. With severely decreased income, I predict the league to fold very soon. With China pissed off along many others stateside, viewership numbers and in game attendance will drop. The push for equality will bite them in the ass. NBA players are getting robbed by financing the lesbians. I predict NBA players will make a fuss. Initially, the media will muzzle it, but it will explode in their faces.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see that salaries will drop. An outsider can look and say, ohhh they will still make millions. However, they have not taken into account many athletes go broke soon after retirement. This will only expedite bankruptcies. it will be hard for a player making $10 million a season to make $4 mil When they have been living large. I wish them well, but when promoting dubious social issues led by marxists there is nobody left to blame.

On a side note.....The unkept secret that the NBA front office wants an LA and new York team in the finals is known. Last year they shit because a Canadian team won. Yes the raptors had Kawhai, but Americans are known for their lack of knowledge or interest outside stateside. Hence, lack of viewers. Proof, according to Wikipedia, 2019 finals viewership averaged 8.8 million. The year before that till 2009 averaged over 10 million. This year with much less, they are in panic mode.

Via Outkick, "Mark Cuban Talks NBA Tanking, BLM, and China with Megyn Kelly":

Monday, Mark Cuban appeared on the Megyn Kelly Show. The NBA owner spun the NBA’s tank-job as hard as he could, discussing the league’s ratings collapse, Black Lives Matter, and the NBA’s relationship with China.

As Outkick has written, the 2020 NBA Finals are an historic disaster — with games down as much as 58% year-over-year. Kelly accurately blames the league’s decision to go political for the millions of Americans turning away.

“You wear a pink ribbon to support breast cancer is one thing. Putting BLM in the middle of the court when it’s not supported by virtually any Republican in the country [is another],” she started.

Cuban then oddly asked Kelly “which BLM group” she was referring to.

“It’s a group founded by Marxists, who want to dismantle the nuclear family and defund the police,” Kelly responded.

Cuban claimed that BLM.com and the movement were not the same: “You never, ever heard [the NBA] talk about Marxism.”

Kelly got him again: “To pretend BLM — dot com, or otherwise — is not about defunding the police is dishonest. The basketball players have made clear, they support that.”

Cuban didn’t deny that certain players want to dismantle the police. “Individual players can have their opinions,” he says. The NBA “is interested in police reform. We’ve never talked about defunding the police.”

Though Cuban is correct the NBA, as a unit, has never stated they are for defunding police, the league has fully embraced BLM. The group, as Kelly notes, “devotes” itself to defunding law enforcement agencies across the country.

Cuban tried to argue that there was no one speaking for BLM, but that isn’t true either.

“The co-founder of BLM, Patrisse Cullors, was on TV saying, ‘We should abolish law enforcement,'” Kelly noted.

For some reason, Cuban claimed that networks were simply re-airing Cullors’ quotes.

“Your audience is fleeing,” Kelly said on the topic of viewership decline. “They object to the politicization of the league… [The NBA] has suffered.”

Kelly broke down the Finals’ turnout:

“Lowest Finals opener ever. Game 2, another new low. Game 3, down an unprecedented 58% from last year.

“This is during a marquee matchup with the Lakers and Heat. Last year, they had some team in Canada. That matchup is crushing what we are seeing now.”

Kelly summed up the series: “This is an unprecedented viewership collapse.”

Here is where the discussion got good. Cuban used the same excuses the sports media has used for years to distract from the NBA’s tanking numbers. He blamed the media outlets that Kelly chose to cite: “The sources might not be reflective of reality.” Kelly said she read about the NBA ratings on Outkick.

“You are not looking outside NBA ratings to see what is happening in media,” Cuban fired back. He also mentioned horse racing’s decline.

As I explained last week, NBA defenders are now comparing the league to niche sports — like horse racing and hockey. But in 2016, the same media members compared the NBA with the NFL.

Which one is it? Is the NBA on its way to catching the NFL, or is it a niche sport catered to a specific audience?

ESPN answers:

Later in the interview, the two got into the NBA’s business relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.

Kelly asked point-blank, “Why won’t you and the NBA condemn” China?

“I put a priority on domestic issues,” Cuban returned. “I’m against all human rights violations around the world. China is not the only country with human rights violations.”

I credit Mark Cuban for going on the podcast and discussing these issues. Most wouldn’t do that. But on the topic of China, he went from spin-master to world-class dodger.

Nearly every time Kelly asked him to be specific about condemning China, he responded by saying he’s “against all human rights violations.” He even gave this same vague response when Kelly asked him directly if he condemns the genocide going on in China.

To be clear: I don’t believe that Cuban is indifferent to what is going on in China. However, he is putting business ahead of human rights. China “is a customer of ours,” he explained to Kelly. “And I’m OK with doing business with China.”

If Cuban, LeBron James, or Adam Silver really wanted to effect change outside the world of basketball, then they would denounce China. They won’t.

We encourage you to listen to the whole interview.

To put this further in perspective, game 6 this year had 5.6 million viewers (2nd lowest ever), game 6 last year had 8 million viewers just in Canada. In obviously related news, the NBA commissioner is taking BLM off the court next year.

We all know LeBron James is an amazing human being, but seriously. Just when we thought he couldn't get any better, local media caught this powerful moment and WE CAN'T EVEN. Cameras caught the inspiring, heartwarming moment LeBron approached a homeless man last week at one of LA's many tent cities.

According to sources, the homeless man held out his hand to LeBron's approaching car to ask for some spare change. What happened next gives us faith in humanity again.

The world-famous NBA player looked at the poor man's outstretched hand. Smiling kindly he said, "Silver and gold have I none, but in the name of #BlackLivesMatter, I offer you the gift of social enlightenment!"

LeBron James then proceeded to lecture the lucky panhandler on his white privilege, offering helpful ways to "be better" in the future. "I was shocked," said Mike "CrazyEyes" McCluckerson, the homeless Marine Corps vet after LeBron's helpful exhortation. "I was raised by a family of possums under an abandoned bridge, but I had no idea how many advantages my whiteness had given me in life. Furthermore, Mr. James illuminated a host of unconscious biases I harbored in my heart without even knowing it. This moment marks a turning point in my never-ending journey to relinquish the mantle of privilege Western colonialism has afforded me."

Mr. McCluckerson then offered Lebron James his scarf as a token of thanks. James didn't have any cash to offer the homeless man, but he did make a $100 donation to Black Lives Matter in his name. What a BEAUTIFUL gesture. Go, LeBron!

Only sports I ever watch are boxing and MMA. Not a peep of this nonsense and likely to stay that way.

Boars are multiplying exponentially in America:

So hunting makes a good sport to do. Either with Bow or with Guns. Shooting practice. Compared with tossing a ball around at the very least one can roast the boar and make a feast of their meat.

No one should even think of watching NBA again until they not just completely drop the social justice virtue signalling, but also fire and blacklist every single official and player involved in it. Until that happens, any proclamations about "taking BLM off the court" are just marketing.

Too sad the racism still takes place everywhere, even in sports, when most of the teams are mixed up with different nations. Players should be judged based on their performance, not their skin color or beliefs. A lot of protests and fights are taking place after games. Some fans are going to extremes. I remember a couple of years ago, after a game, some insane fans destroyed almost every single shop near the stadium. Hopefully, soon we will understand that there is no place for racism in sports and anywhere. I personally love to bet on different games and place my bets based on a team's average performance, not on the nationality of the players. You can always find more about your favorite team and place your bet.

Just DON'T WATCH!

They may not overtly say it next season, but their thinking will still be the same. They will still talk about it in the media. They still despise you. They players are still overtly racist against whites and will sell out slaves in Asia/China to pump up their $100m wealth.

All they're talking about doing is taking away the obvious garbage. DON'T PARTICIPATE.

The way they have BLM written on the court makes you wonder if Soros is a financier or some Chinese commie encouraged it. Imagine if it said Free Hong Kong or Free Palestine instead. You'd enrage all the Chinese & Jews. Heh. But these guys have to tapdance for their shekels. This may not be low paying hard labor & I obviously don't pity these guys but it's a new type of plantation nonetheless.

Soros is one of many of them, and the CCP is way down the ladder. The CCP has little to 0 power over this and is a misdirection allowed by the GOP because the GOP is owned by the same people.

Soros, Steyer, Bloomberg, Larry Fink, etc, etc, it is a club of billionaire wall street bankers and they are pushing this social messaging to break down society so they can make maximum profits before moving on to the next nation to exploit.

This is certainly plausible when the vast majority of NBA franchise owners (and the commissioner) are of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage. Some of them have law degrees as well.

Yes, but it goes above some of them. You have to fully grasp that Larry Fink, the CEO of Blackrock Financial, helped secure $5 trillion, yes with a "T" of free money due to coronavirus. They are using that money to buy up investments in China against the CCP's wishes.

There is an entire level of people, many you have never heard of, who can strong arm the US government into giving them trillions of dollars for free while the country goes bankrupt.

These people control everything top down, both political parties, etc. While the masses are arguing over silly things like "masks" and "is Trump a racist" they are laughing at us and robbing the treasury blind.

Sharp post. And I bet if you posted these things on other sites within the Internet it would get censored quickly. Keep the info coming.

I appreciate it, but there is a post here that goes into more detail about the deal Blackrock Financial strong armed the US Government into doing for them and I certainly cannot take credit for it.

Funny how it all comes back to the saying that money is the root of all evil. Sure, we all need some money to survive in modern society, but this is what happens when entities with an agenda get too much of it.
