Stealth wealth

I like the idea of being relatively wealthy but having most people think you have an average income. I'll leave a couple of links and questions to get the discussion going.

Is it a good idea after a few years to let your girlfriend / wife know how much you really have?

How do you give the impression that your income is average while spending money on expensive things?

What are some good ways to hide / protect your assets? (money, property, precious metals, etc)

If I was wealthy I would downplay it as much as possible to everyone in my life. This would include a wife as much as possible without disrupting the relationship.

I would also structure my wealth so it was protected via trusts or other structures so that I could limit the financial cost of divorce as much as possible.

I keep hearing things like ‘hide your wealth from your wife’ and ‘put it into a trust’...like it’s easy to game the system and protect your wealth from your wife in the event of divorce.

It doesn’t work that way.

The stark reality is- your pre-marital wealth can and will be used to justify giving her more than 50% of the marital assets. That’s right...being excellent with your money will be held against you in divorce.

It’s a simple transfer of wealth.

You could get a pre-nup...but that son of a bitch better be absolutely ironclad with every account and every dollar disclosed or it’ll get rendered null and void or at the very least be picked apart mercilessly, costing lots of money.

The best bet actually is to find a woman that has more wealth and makes more money than you. But, if she finds that out she’s likely to lose attraction for you. And good luck finding women with true wealth- they handle money like children.

I’ve been through a divorce with a pre-nup. Send me your questions.

Just siphon physical cash away and hide it. Do it a little over a long time, or if you need to accelerate it; make sure your face is known in local betting shops so you can tell them you 'lost it gambling'. It's good to have a chunk of 'emergency cash' available that's known only to you, no need for women or the government to know about it. Just don't lose it.

I have met women like that in South East Asia but they're on an allowance from mommy and daddy and only inhabit fancy condos etc. but don't actually own them.

They want you to match or outperform their multi generational family holdings, which is a ridiculous expectation to even foreign guys unless you are a Sheik from Dubai. Most of them will die alone having been priced out of the market at birth.

The most you can extract is a property that her family will give you to live in but it's still in their name and you will be the family's bitch, which is a total no go for any independently minded guy.

If you are evil minded you can find spouses of moderate wealthy boomers, game them and convince them to divorce rape their husbands and later on divorce rape them or extract money by other means.

Building real wealth for millennials and younger is a pipe dream. You can be happy if you can afford a 30 year mortgage on a studio apartment in a big city and not losing it before it's paid off because some femnazi went #metoo on you at work.

Don't marry, don't cohabitate and I'd go as far as not ever bringing her to your place and not telling her your real name so she can't go #metoo on you. Women know these days that the elites enabled them to do whatever they want to guys that don't play ball with low to no repercussions.

If you somehow inherit wealth that is significant, form a trust or foundation, transfer ownership, collect rent from yourself on the properties and let it manage whatever financial assets exists as well.

There are lawyers who can set this up but especially tribe lawyers are snakes as well so you got to be careful who you deal with / give power of attorney to if you don't want to end up like a broke Hollywood celeb who had his money stolen from them by money managers / evil lawyers.

Especially if you go to developing countries I strongly recommend against dressing preppy or living in fancy places if you don't have a strong local network of trustworthy upper class people as the vultures will find you.

Number 1 protection for your wealth is still to not marry a women from Tinder or some slut from a bar you picked up drunk.

No seriously. Hiding your health sounds like a lot of stress. Have high standards for your future wife (outside of looks) and you can have an honest relationship. I hear about horror storys in the US and divorce is basically giving everything and your kids to your wife. I do get that. But come on, if you marry a women that would steal your kids and your money, it's your fault aswell. This countless of MGTOW horror storys are 95% from men having 0 standards and ignoring hundreds of red flags.

I will getting married in the next 1-2 year aswell and my protection is that I filtered bad women out and chose a good one carefully. I know it's 2019 but still plenty of women around that aren't sluts. Also we will both go to
catholic church which will make a divorce a sin for both of us. The main reason I go to church now is to prevent my girlfriend go crazy and to prevent my daughter to go crazy and follow Miley Cyrus. Religion put women into place. Look at Islam. They don't need to hide money or be afraid of a divorce. White boys are afraid to even be honest with their wife. Ridiculous.

To be fair I don't think divorce is going to be your biggest problem.

When you have a few million in the bank you need to start worrying about things like being solicited for fraudulent investments, harassment from local officials trying to strong-arm a contribution, and people kidnapping you when you stay in a South American country.

Overall it's an extremely good idea to hide your wealth with the exception of people who work in a field like media or venture capital where a reputation for being wealthy is necessary for you to be successful at the job.

If you have to hide your wealth/income from your wife, then you picked the wrong wife.

I know guys that did that, and it always ended in divorce. Messy divorces too.

Stealth weath isn't hard.

Average house.
Average car.
Don't talk about it.

Most people don't hide their wealth because they seek the approval of strangers.

Great Thread. First it's never a good idea to tell your wife how much money you have. You're just digging your own grave. I don't care how much she tells you "I will love you forever" or how your love is like no other. Don't tell her anything. Now a girlfriend, it depends on the girl.

Second. You are free to buy whatever you want with your hard earned cash but when you're displaying your wealth you will be attracting vultures all around. My advice is to not buy expensive things, unless it's something you're actually passionate about and not just trying to showcase it to others for validation.

Third. Don't ever sign a doomsday contract known as marriage. You'll be way ahead of the game just doing that. Keep some physical cash on hand nearby that you can easily grab in case of emergencies like a black out and you can't reach the bank. Maybe look into opening an offshore account. Just don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

You are wrong. Go abroad and, do any random job online that pays $50K and you'll easily save half your income away.

To follow this up...

Telling any of my girlfriends how much money I made has never been a good thing, especially in EE.

One of three things happen...

A. You either come across as try-hard and she thinks your lame. She's a typical woman and while she wants you to provide fun times and dates, she doesn't get it's connected to money.

B. She's a gold digger and begins liking you for superficial reasons, aka beta bucks.

C. She compares it to the small amount of money her and her family make in EE and then there's literally no excuse for me not footing a bill. She ends up telling her Mom over a glass of wine, and before you know it, she's silently thinking of ways to extract from you.

Interesting note to add...happened last week:

Had a date with a Ukrainian-American (here in USA) and unsolicitedly she tells me that she thinks it’s a good idea to have a prenup for a 2nd marriage (we are both divorced). I was fucking floored. Could hardly contain a smile.

I didn’t think it was possible. Prenups are fighting words for women.

Since 110% of women think of prenups in the wrong context (‘like OMG prenups are only for people that are really rich!!!’) it’s almost guaranteed she has significant wealth.

Will be interesting to see where this one leads.

Even aside from marriage and prenups, I've gotten into the habit of appearing poorer than I actually am on 1st dates. This is a first pass test to filter out girls with obvious financial motives. If attraction is there even when they think a man is poor, that's a big green light.

I go old school wise guy on women. I explain to them upfront the Wise Guy rules of marriage for a new or prospective wife. I had clients that were contractors on the Big Dig which cost nearly $20 Billion that flowed through all of the contractors and subcontractors in Boston. One was a concrete finishing company and the other asbestos abatement. Heavily connected guys who knew who is who and what is what.

These guys keep some serious cash in a shoebox or a few boxes as a backup to funds that could be seized by Feds or Law rats with malicious lawsuits and as money accumulates in offshore LLC or IBC accounts. Many visit Vegas or Northeast casinos to keep side wagering accounts with them and to get whale/vip treatment. Best way to hide 10K is five $1K and one $5K Casino chips versus 100 $100 blue benjamins.

Many buy a house for a reliable sister or other relatives who is stable and not on drugs and hides some cash etc., in a waterproof plastic canister that can not be detected deep under a flower garden as digging in gardens does not arouse suspicion.

You can not whack Feds but everyone else who might betray or attack you is fair game - this is cold hard Wiseguy Dread game - the wife is useful as she can not be forced to testify against her husband - John Gotti's wife was famous for saying "All I know is he provides". Period.

Taking vacations to BVI, Bermuda, Bahamas, Belize to handle your offshore LLCs or IBCs while visiting a local Casino is always a good idea. Most guys keep their working capital and collateral in the LLC and Reserves in the IBC - with a side Ride or Die IBC in the wife's name just in case of any catastrophic events.

Most important thing for her to keep in mind is to not red flag herself or you with moving large stacks of cash in and out of local Banks/Credit Unions as that will flag "cash staging" type inquiries from authorities.

Their women are ride or die women, old school wiseguy style meaning One Wife for One Life and a Wiseguy divorce is if she betrays you she knows far in advance that she will go out in a pine box. If you can not manage the women in your life how can you be given authority over men?

This knowledge reinforced with wife Dread game is its own reward plus you can then pass down wealth to help your kids learn to take over the family business.

With a wife and kids and/or long term mistress you can enjoy life but still not take it all with you.

Unfortunately saving 25k a year is not real "wealth".

Honestly, start internationalizing your life.

Assets in safe countries, your home in another, citizenship in another, etc. Do some research on flag theory. It's not just about tax.
