I contributed to this. Some people on other sites are saying that this spending actually falls in the normal range for pay to senior executives in non-profits.
I will say that $25 million is not that much money for an enterprise like this, and they should not be paying out huge executive salaries and perks. They should be finding contractors who are willing to do the work for their best price, and executives and staff should take modest pay.
If it is found that they were in fact committing fraud, they should be nailed to the wall. If this is just over-zealous harassment by liberal state officials, then the officials should be fired for this kind of crap. Liberal officials are always are quick to arrest and charge conservatives for the first hint of wrong doing, and then bend over backwards with things like spygate and the Clinton foundation, saying that they don't have a strong enough case to take to court.

I think it's the latter. The dems want to tie up Bannon with bull***, so he cannot help Trump's re-election in any way. The Southern District of New York is incredibly partisan and corrupt.

The problem is according to the lawsuit they said that they wouldn’t take salaries or pay, but they did. Taking a salary, even a large one isn’t a problem, but don’t lie about it and mislead people about where the money is going. Also, they didn’t exactly pay themselves a salary, they used shell companies and fake billing to take money from the donations.
Funny thing is tons of non profits are fraudulent tax dodging schemes, but it’s not that smart to do it for such a high profile topic like this. If Trump actually cares about the wall, you would think he would be the one most furious about this. I doubt it though.

Well he convinced people to fork over $25 million for what obviously was never going to amount to more than 0.0001% of the wall, so maybe the public isn’t that smart.

It's within the realm of possibility that Bannon committed fraud, but I think it's more likely that this is another one of the countless nonsense accusations the media has been making over the last few years. Best to wait three weeks and see how things fall out before making a judgment.
