Damn, this case gets me in the feels, I think because I was a black college student going for a worthless degree with no game on an American campus. Also like this dude, I had some depression, and I didn't know my real value. I made a ton of stupid, cringy, autistic mistakes. I get his whole thought process throughout this ordeal. "Oh wow, that girl is cute. She teaches a faggy dance class? Guess I gotta take it." "OK, it's been a few weeks and she smiled at me, let me ask her out. Hope I don't stutter too much when I ask her." "So she said she's busy now but maybe later this month. Surely she means it and isn't just saying any shit to escape the situation. I'll wait patiently and then send her a note in a few weeks." "She responded to my messages by saying 'Stop harassing me'. What? I don't understand. She told me to talk to her later this month. I don't want to cause trouble. I guess I'll apologize and try to go to her class as normal and show her nothing's wrong." "This is weird, I can sense she's awkward in class, even though I didn't say anything to her. What can I do to make things better? I know, I'll write a long letter apologizing again and I'll ask her what she wants me to do. She'll knows she has the power, and that will make her happy!" "Harassment?! OMG. This is just a misunderstanding. No need for a lawyer. I can do the informal investigation. They'll see I did nothing wrong. And she'll probably calm down and tell them the truth anyway." Now his academic career is destroyed. Even if he wins the lawsuit and the judge makes Mizzou let him finish his degree, no other school will touch him with a 10 foot pole, and there's no point to a doctorate in cultural anthropology outside of academia. Game really does save lives.
