Factories shutting down production cause of energy costs makes no sense.
All they have to do is raise the prices on their own end products to remain profitable.
With the utility bills - gas for industrial purposes, electricity and soon gas for heating - going up hundreds % it is no longer possible to dump the costs on the consumers. They could raise the price of their products, but those prices would to high for anybody to afford.
