How is the scene in Athens during the summer? Is it worth the 70 minute drive out from Atlanta before the students get back or should I wait until football starts again? I imagine Athens is normally full of the hot pieces of barely legal tale I've seen in Buckhead the last couple of weekends.

Athens is like a ghost town in the summer. definitely wait until school starts back up in the fall.
False. False. False.

from my experience, i don't think Athens is worth visiting in the summer.. especially compare to Atlanta.

Ali,
Sorry to hear about the night ending badly. Fast recovery amigo!
And yes, get a freaking blog. Actually, a much better idea would be to have Ali and El Mech get a blog together! Now that would be an EPIC blog to follow!!!!

Ali's looking at 6-12 months recovery. After surgery. The old PA said it was the worst fracture he'd ever seen. Fuck.

Shit, that's awful! I suspected you would need surgery. I fucked my knee and wrist up real bad in car wreck a couple years back and I wasn't full speed until three different surgeries over the course of a year & a half. My wrist is still permanently disabled and can't lift anything really heavy without a strong brace.

Worse part might be rehab. I had a coworker shatter his ankle right after Thanksgiving, had surgery, and wasn't back to work until the first week of April, with a strong limp. He is almost full speed now, though. He is in his fifties, so take that as you will.

Oh, I didn't think of that - Jesus, that is rough. You will most likely to be able to move around by August, but very slowly. Hopefully, some dudes on the forum have some creative ideas for you. Best of luck!

Right now I'll be filling my days with:

1. Guitar
2. XBox
3. Learning how to draw.
4. Free online classes.
5. Light resistance band workouts (upper body)
6. Refreshing my knowledge on electronics and mechanical theory.

Gonna have plenty of time. Will stay on the vitamin regiment, and just added a calcium/zinc/magnesium mix to further along the bone healing.

I'm still a little loopy from the shit they shot into my IV in the ER earlier. So glad I got family to take care of me. Fuck all if I'd want to depend on a g/f.

^^^ The hard part is going to find a way to make ends meet while all this is going down.

Well you've got a year to do something with your time, it might be a blessing in disguise.

Is this the biggest tragedy that has happened at a forum meetup? I think it is.
I don't know, I mean, it could have been worse. I wasn't even hungover on Sunday morning.

Yeah, probably the worst thing that has happened at a meet-up.

I don't think Murphy's Law came into play, though.

Ali's law came into play

Ali's Law: the point at which drinking with Ali brings diminishing returns of amusement and moves on to becoming downright hazardous

Get well man, don't sit in that couch drinking all day.

When you get back from ankle injury get you some vibram five fingers or minimus sneakers. Awesome for ankle injury prevention. You can't sprain your ankles in minimus if you tried.

Also do these exercises: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=xbI6LGj5imA&desktop_uri=/watch?v=xbI6LGj5imA

I have had 5-6 severe ankle sprains over the last 15 years. Last time was 4 years ago. Got the vibrams and strengthened all those muscles high arch sneakers weaken. Knock on wood I've been good ever since.

No drinking or smoking. Both inhibit bone regeneration. I gotta heal ASAP.

Take the Big Ass Book Challenge...a few times.

Yeah I got a stack to get started on. That'll happen after surgery, which is coming up soon.

Learn a language.

I'll use Spanishpod101 and LiveMocha to keep my Spanish tight. I can see downloading Spanish soap operas to practice. At least the girls on there are hot.

My stewardess offered to bring me to her house after surgery for awhile and look after me. My sister brought over a massive soft couch. In the end this is gonna suck though, as I like to work and am a very hyper/mobile person.

I'm already feel like this:

Ali's trip to Athens,GA reminds me when they sent the Special Forces out after Bin Laden in 2001 in Afghanistan.

They located him, but the search was called off at the last minute.

From undisclosed sources I understand that because of his military background, Roosh hired Ali out to find IRT.

But because you're in IRT's backyard, he knows the lie of the land better than Roosh V infidels.

He also has a vast network of Student Dorms where he can hide out, similar to the caves of Afghanistan.

I suspect Ali stepped on an ITD (Improvised Troll Device) in the pursuit of IRT, and he escaped just like Bin Laden.
