The Baby Boomer Question

He was trying to state that not all boomers are the same. There are good and bad boomers just as there are good and bad Millennials and Gen X-ers.
Thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea.
#NotAllBoomers

Blah blah blah transsexual blah blah blah NYC blah blah blah iphones blah blah blah Starbucks blah blah blah avacado toast. Tinder is bad.
Amazing.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to make a forum post to tell people I don't know on the internet that while some Millennials are bad, I'm not like those Millennials, I'm actually amazing. Then I'm going to talk about myself some more and about how different I am (it is important that people I don't know on the internet are aware of this). Because, while some Millennials are self-absorbed to the point of parody, I am totally not like that. And I'm going to prove it by talking about myself.

I think the problem with the Boomers is they lived in an America that was materially at it’s best. They were born into a country that had a 90 percent white population, where most businesses were closed on Sundays, the overwhelming majority of the population was Christian and attended at least a Sunday service weekly. Homosexuality was virtually unknown and unheard of. There was little to no sexual promiscuity, porn or premarital sex. Divorce was rare. Women mostly did not work but instead took care of hearth and home. Any movie could be watched by anyone at any age because they didn’t have nudity, glorify crime, encourage sexual degeneracy, show excessive violence or blood. Crime was low. Even in a place like Brooklyn people could not lock their doors and be fairly certain of not being robbed, even stores did not need to have protective gates after closing. I could go on. But they threw it all away. To be fair they were enabled by their parents the so called greatest generation( see WW2 red pill thread to debunk that label).

He was trying to state that not all boomers are the same. There are good and bad boomers just as there are good and bad Millennials and Gen X-ers. I agree that the boomer generation failed overall and was quite selfish, but a millennial that is 35 and chooses to become a transsexual or hate his own race based on what a small percentage of people (and likely not even his own ancestors) did 200 years ago is a fool and he can't blame that on boomers.

A lot of young people complain about boomers having shipped good jobs overseas and making life hard on them (and some of these complaints are valid). However, while complaining about financial struggles, many choose to live in super expensive cities like NYC or San Francisco and buy the latest Apple phones while having a daily Frappuccino at Starbucks and an overpriced avacado wrap from a hip deli. Many create tinder accounts because they want sex without any relationship at all (basically treating each other like prostitutes without cash payments). We can't blame boomers for these choices that many younger people are making. They are choosing to be a more degenerate generation than boomers instead of raising the bar.
It's like neither side as a whole wants to take responsibility for why things are so bad now when in reality both should be sharing the blame and working together to make things better but that's not what's happening..

This is precisely it. There is a lot of blame and reasoning around these boards and posts, because we all like to analyze and feel in some sort of control in explaining it all. You could just as easily "blame God" for creating a human ecology/society/predisposition on a population scale for being so malleable and able to be manipulated. How many people don't go with the current? How many people are truly special? We like to think we all are, and in our own ways might be, but history is clear: you adapt to your surroundings. That's why I don't find the silent generation, the world war guys, the boomers, gen X, or anyone else to be anything special big picture - they either inherited, en masse, a good or bad situation and adapted. What makes the modern day different is the dysgenics that were created through the good times and USD/Fed/welfare system in the USA, or "socialism" in post WWII Europe. And if you say that makes the quality of the person different, it still stems from the circumstances of everyone having the ability, through the former environment, to have kids and a standard of living not afforded to that may people over the history of time. Which brings us to today, and the re-balancing, so to speak. I think people are under a delusion, largely since they are manifold and don't understand much due to propaganda and the dysgenics, that what happened in the last 80 years isn't a total aberration for humans. And yes, that's scary on multiple levels.

This is not entirely fair. A lot of people have a philosophy that when a man (or woman) promises something, they will do their best to keep their promise. Maybe the person voted for someone based on promises and then the person reneged on the promises and without having a good reason to do so or even an apology.

Look at Obama as an example. He criticized the Iraq War and then he actually asked the Iraq government to stay longer (they said 'no' and he pulled out and made it seem that is what he wanted to do). He criticized the Patriot Act and then renewed it. He criticized Bush's overspending and then overspent at an even higher amount. He also changed his position on homosexual marriage.

Biden promised to cure cancer if he is elected. Imagine your wife has cancer, you might vote for him based on this promise and when he fails, you will feel bitter and cheated. Biden also promised to solve the Covid-19 crisis and bring unity to the nation. If you believed him, you might vote for him because you want the USA to go back to being normal.

The point is that we vote for people based on their plans for when they are elected. You can't blame people for voting based on this. The problem is that few politicians seem to want to keep their promises. We hold janitors and pizza delivery drivers to higher standards than we do politicians when it comes to this and that is a huge problem.
No, it is. Because that same "pHiLosPhY" has been blasted by both demkcrats and republican political parties during every election cycle since the 70s.

Yet no one thought, hmm maybe time to vote for a 3rd party.

And don't write nonsense about how the 2 party system is the only way and you have to vote for, "your guy" to get maybe something. It's not.

Greens, communists, and lolbertarians for faithfully voted for their parties have less blame for the state of the country since they tried to change the course through other non traditional parties.

If you're still voting for a Republican or Democrat, you are to blame for the mess this country is in.

  1. Homosexuality wasn't unknown and unheard of, it was just kept behind closed doors. Especially in the D.C. beltway, it was actually pretty rampant but kept hushed up. Enacting state-sanctioned homosexuality wasn't about starting to do it, but about getting it out in the open. And all things considered, it was an effective barometer for Satan to determine when it was time for him to openly start moving with regard to the Great Reset.
  2. Divorce was not rare in the Boomers' heyday; in fact, the Boomers were the ones that drove divorce statistics to their highest point. Even millennials do not divorce at the rate Boomers did. Though granted, millennials aren't getting married to begin with, so that might be a moot point anyway. But what is significant is that as Boomers got into their marriageable years, divorce rates did skyrocket.
  3. I think older movies actually tended to have more displays of T&A. I'm thinking of '80s movies like Conan. R-rated movies were R-rated back then more because of the nudity than gore, but newer R-rated movies tend to be R-rated more for the profanity and gore. Women in movies were also more like sex idols in the older days than they are now. Consider the James Bond movies, a mainstay of Boomer titillation. It's also worth mentioning that back then, there was more of a fascination with the European perspective on nudity as a non-issue. People would talk about how casual the Europeans were about being nude around other people, not like America where you had "those Puritan roots". This also showed up in some of the movies back then. I'm sure that Europe has since then became more prudish as the cultures there have become more Americanized and dare I say, Islamized.
The Boomers did live in an outwardly better America, but at the same time, the rot was definitely festering under the shiny sheen of materialism, up in which the Boomers did get caught.

You do have to admit, though, that after so many election cycles where the voters were blatantly and cavalierly disappointed, voters should have learned their lesson. Gullibility is not a character flaw of the deceiver, but of the deceived. That is why in the Bible we are commanded to be shrewd as serpents. Shrewd is the opposite of gullible. We must be shrewd so that we can recognize deceit and call it out, and act accordingly. We don't blame Lucy so much for pulling the ball from Charlie Brown as he is the one that keeps insisting on trying to kick it. All he has to do is STOP! But he just can't bring himself to stop trying, or to have someone else hold the ball.

Even the Kabbalistic Jews have literature in which they gloat over goyim who keep falling for the same tricks. It is also part of the basis for the term itself, goyim which means cattle, in that because people keep falling for the same tricks the Jews see them as cattle. They believe that the goyim deserve their fate as cattle because they are stupid and gullible. It's evil logic, but it's easy to see why a misanthrope like a member of the Synagogue of Satan would follow it.

All people have to do is realize that they're being played. Even vapid girls on online dating websites should have some capacity for this, as so many of their profiles had some variant of "I'm done playing games with men" (at least, as of before I got married). Even my dog is capable of learning from being tricked.

But voters keep voting, despite knowing fully well that almost none of the politicians' promises will be delivered. I don't think it's naivete so much as it is laziness. Voting is a lazy way of enacting political change, and it fools you into thinking you're accomplishing something, so you can just go out for 20 minutes, drop in a ballot, come back home and feel like you've done something.

I was referring to the world the boomers were born into not the one they lived their adult lives in. So yes divorce was rare. I really don’t know how old you are but as a young adult in the 1980’s I never came into contact with a homosexual or really thought much about them at all. And the 80’s had already fallen way below the standards of the 50’s. Movies I was referring to pre 1960 movies as opposed to post 1960. While it is true, I almost want to laugh when Conan is called an old movie.

On an individual level I think most boomers are not to blame for generational shifts societal trends and macro-economic changes.
They lived during their time and made the best of it, some for better some for worse. I don't blame any specific person for not burning down the country and marching on Washington DC when they saw something they didn't like. Even the most honest down to earth country folk didn't do that, they let them big city politicians and bankers play their games which ultimately affect us all.

Some of us younger generation have this image of the carefree boomer with a secure pension and a golden parachute / retirement home who never hires you and never retires from his comfy Board of Director position, lecturing us about world hunger while outsourcing our jobs and enforcing or allowing the latest equality agendas. That's not really a fair representation of people all of which try to navigate this life with the tools and background they've been given.

Some of this sentiment I think comes from jealousy and entitlement (we have it so hard and boomers have it so easy and are screwing us over), some from legitimate problems that most boomers are clueless about such as the challenges facing younger generations - from student loans, the nightmare of navigating corporate HR to find a job hired, to having little to no "career" prospects to struggling to have savings and a pension and saving for retirement.

They really are clueless about the younger generation, they do tend to believe politicians and stick to outdated ideas of what the world is / America is, and they can sound condescending telling a Gen-Xer to just work harder or just invest in real estate or just have pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

All in all I don't resent boomers for their good fortune and opportunities they had, squandered or not, I just do not intend to take any life advice from them on how to navigate the world and be successful.

I think it depended on where you lived. Remember that in the late 1960's, things in large cities had already fallen quite a bit. Look at the famous homosexual riots in 1969 in NYC. Think about Woodstock and the heavy marijuana use in cities. I think the silent generation has escaped a lot of blame when many of the hippies and most beatniks were members of this generation.

Also, think about the 1920's in large cities. There were a lot of issues with crime, prostitution, and even drug use. Berlin, Chicago, and Paris were known to be quite degenerate.

The Hays code was created in response to degeneracy in movies. This code definitely helped keep movies clean and is likely a reason the quality of movies was pretty decent at that time.

I feel that the designation Boomer covers too broad a spectrum of years. The heart of the Boomer generation was from 1947 to 1957. These are the people that would have experienced the changeover from a moral Christian drug free society into the very opposite.

However, think about movies like 'Blackboard Jungle' and the rise of controversial music (like Elvis) as the beatnik culture in the 1950's. Also, a baby boomer born in 1955 would only be 12-15 when the hippies were a major force among the American youth (especially university students). The early boomers that lived away from cities would have had a pretty clean childhood (and likely from a stable family) up to high school graduation which is a huge advantage. However, many high school graduates in 1964-1965 (likely the major years when American decided to start a major transformation from clean to degenerate) would still not be fully mature enough to avoid the temptations of the counterculture movement. Many people don't really mature until their early 20's (and that is if they had a decent upbringing).

"Beatniks—sought out experiences that were more intensely "real." Sometimes "real" experiences meant physical pleasures such as sex and drugs or more spiritual pursuits such as Eastern religions, particularly Buddhism."

Even in 1966, drug use was already a huge problem (and most of these users were the silent generation):

The problems of the 60’s had there roots in the promotion of Rock n Roll, the idea of the teenager, subtle degenerate figures like Elvis and the beatniks begun in the 50’s but still the culture was relatively clean. Have you ever watched old TV shows from the 50’s and 60’s much different than what came after. Same thing for movies. The Boomers embraced the changes knowingly or unknowingly. We didn’t get to where we are today overnight.

I do agree that TV and movies were clean in the 1950's and 1960's. However, think about who was in charge of the New Hollywood Era and the Rural Purge in the 1960's and 1970's. Notice many of the actors in films like 'Easy Rider' and 'The Graduate' (considered early and important films for the new era) are from the silent generation. Also, the executives responsible for the rural purge were born in the 1920's.

Who are the parents of boomers? Why didn't they do a better job raising their kids? Maybe the greatest generation was too materialistic. The greatest generation created car friendly suburbs which killed communities, got the USA into the Vietnam War, created the welfare programs, passed easy divorce laws (Reagan was very guilty of this), etc...

I am not trying to defend boomers by the way. I agree that many willingly embraced the changes but often with encouragement from their elders (such as greedy TV executives and corrupt university professors and charismatic cult leaders like Charles Manson). I will blame boomers for making things worse and creating the entitled and tyrannical and quite dangerous Gen X and Millennials (both with many exceptions) who will deserve hatred from the next 2 generations down the line because they are making things worse.

I did mention the so called Greatest Generation in an earlier post. They are largely responsible maybe more so than the Boomers. I was just saying the Boomers embraced the change. Also the Greatest Generation helped spread International Communism both through shear naïveté, the defeat of it’s opponents in WW2 and the entitled arrogance and materialism that followed.

Did you vote for either a Democrat or Republican in any national election before Donald Trump?

If so, you have a part of the blame for the current state of America.

Don't worry however. I voted for Hillary (2008 primary) and Obama before I knew any better so my hands aren't clean either.
The only president I ever voted for was Trump.

The people you need to have a problem with, is those to supported candidates that voted in the congressional and presidential elections that supported this: https://www.history.com/news/immigration-act-1965-changes

I was four years old at the time, so don't blame me.

Marty,

Thanks for that. You get it. If boomers are just based on age, then you just lump a bunch of folks into a bucket, you don't like. Boomers, Gen-XYZ, etc. are not homogeneous pots.

Nah I'm going to. Not voting for viable 3rd parties to undo the damage down by your elders is as bad as continually voting for Democrats and Republicans. I also doubt you didn't vote in any other elections but I'll have to take your word for it.

At least you voted for Trump. Sounds like you have some wherewithal to realize things are getting bad.

But what marks you as an obviously stereotypical boomer is your religious label, "agnostic". An agnostic is literally the most wishy washy answer possible. An atheist at least denies God fully, an agnostic is just a coward who can't pick.

You're not going to get any quarter in this thread mate.

They completely don't care what will happen to their grandchildren. Doesn't even cross their minds.
My dad has gone to church every Sunday for 61 years, never even missed a holy day of obligation. Doesn't drink, got married young, never had a wild party phase, etc..

I show him footage of cities turning into non-white hellholes, and when he finally starts to agree it's getting bad he says "oh well I won't be around so I don't care".

My other uncle watches church service remotely because he says it's dangerous with the virus, but he has season tickets to an elite college basketball team and he goes to games with a mask on. He'll go to sportsball but not church

They are awful people as a whole. At least Asians don't hate their own people.
