I can’t stand comparisons of generations because most people compare the current young adult generation (Gen Z today) to the current 30 something Millenials to the old man Gen X to the very old boomers. Need to compare all to how they were in their 20’s so it’s apples to apples. People change views, work ethic, morals etc considerably over decades of life experience and what has impacted them.
It isn't about being young or old or life experience that changes how you view things. Most boomers grew up in a time that simply no longer exists any where on the planet. They grew up with the most advantages, the easiest childhood, the easiest environment to raise children. They had the benefits of both modern technology and tradition homogeneous civilization. They grew up when the stars aligned perfectly but what's more is they were brainwashed by the TV from the time they were toddlers up to today. After they die out, most of TV "news" will die with them.
Talking to them, about almost any subject, is like talking to a child. You just have to sort of agree with them, laugh to yourself, and move on. "All you have to do is get a college degree, and get a job, and save a little bit and you can live the American dream" says the boomer who doesn't realize none of this available in this day and age. "The stock market will always give you 8% average per year" after we destroyed the US dollar and civilization to keep it propped up until the bubble pops for good, and real inflation is nearly 8% itself and jobs pay half per COL of what the boomer had.
I feel bad for them, they are often stunted, have no idea what is going on in the world, and are shunned and shammed by younger people, and they don't know why. So, they hide in their little enclaves, saying things like "kids these days just don't want to work" while paying an illegal $25 to mow their lawn, when per COL they made $100 to do it when they were kids.
Things will not get better without them. They are the last of the competent blue collar workers in droves. We are already experiencing shortages with hands on labor, electricians, HVAC, carpenters, etc.
